My guess is Alonso has backed himself in a corner. There is no good ride available for 2009, so its Renault for 2-3 years or DTM replacing Mika. Ferrari will NOT put Alonso on the same team as Raikkonen. Unless Kimi retires, and that will be nil if he wins the /wdc again in 2008. Luca cares too much about the WCC to take a chance at having any kind of driver conflict. And Massa is actually good race day buddies with Hamilton, so that really creates a problem for Fred.

Logic? Fred is going to Renault for two years, maybe three. Or he will replace Jensen in 2010 when Ross gets Honda in better shape and Jensen will go to McLaren for a British superteam with Lewis.

Is that because they know Kimi would be competitive against Alonso or because they know Massa would not be? ;)

As opposed to shutting the mouths of those who have no faith in Ferrari's choice of Alonso in 2009?

You seem to have no problem criticizing Alonso now, what will you do when he joins Ferrari? Are you one of those whose allegience to the team ends if you don't like their driver selection?

I don't care for Massa but I don't question my allegience to the team because of it. Can you say the same thing about Alonso? (Be careful, I can always search your previous posts...)

IMHO a sabbattical would be bad for Alonso's career. So what would it really tell us if he would end up with not driving 08?

Would such a sacrifice be a strong indicator that he has indeed a 2009 Ferrari drive lined up?

    Just a thought. :)

I posted elsewhere that the surest sign of a signed deal for Ferrari in 2009 would be for him to take a sabbatical for 2008.

Hang on, whats this non sense about TATA F1 ? I assure you, Vijay Mallya's UB Group and the TATA group are completely unrelated. And no, the owners of Force India are not the TATA group and Mallya (the current owner of Force India) does not own TATA. And to the best of my knowldge TATA only sponsors Karthikeyan, and they won't be sponsoring Force India. And the company that sponsors Toyota is Kingfisher (owned by Mallya) not TATA. Hope this clears up some of the confusion.

    Thanks, it did.

I see there is no point in continuing to call them Team Tata, although that was fun. I just can't get myself to call a backmarker team a "Force". Have to think of another nickname.

A bit like Super Aguri, which always made me wonder how slow the regular Aguris are, the non Super version. :)

I know you'll all think I'm nuts, but I keep hearing that Kimi is done with racing when his Ferrari contract ends. There is also an concern within the Getisone Sportiva that Kimi could just walk away at any moment, like Jackie Stewart did, and Like Lauda did (the first time). Take it for what it's worth....

PS: I heard it from a friend of a friend, of my mechanic's sister-in-law, who's lesbian lover works as the Ferrari press agent. :D

Well I heard that this lesbian lover is cheating with the wife of one of the McLaren engineers, who is really an illegimate daughter of Briatore that is a result of one of his numerous flings. And somehow she is related to Berger, whose cousin is third cousin to Frank Williams. She has been porking Lewis Hamilton that we all know is related to Obama that is related to Dick Cheney. Cheney's lesbian daugher started the mess when she first introduced the Ferrari press agent to her lover at one of Cheney's hunting parties. Now the Bush administration is considering declaring war on the FIA. It gets even more complicated when you realize that Bernie is really Jean Todt's biological father, thus explaning why they are both under 4"10".

Even more interesting, Hamilton is Alonso's fourth cousin, twice removed.

Kimis not leaving as long as Massa is his teammate.

    They are all mine, all mine you hear!! Go get your own!! ;}

P.S. David Coultard actually had fatty tissue from his ass added to his jaw to give him that Clark Kent look. That is no more ridiculous than anyone suggesting they know for sure anything about who is driving what in 2009. Except Tony Stewart, son from Jackie Stewart's first marriage, who announced he has decided to lose weight and will drive for Toyota F1 in 2009 after winning the "Cup"* in his Camry in 2008. This started rumors that Chevrolet will enter F1 and that Jeff Gordan and Dale Earnhardt Jr will be the new American F1 team. A second Chevrolet team, with partnership from Seat will be Alonso's ride with Jimmy Spencer. Seat, partners with Fiat, will use Ferrari power, thus the rumors that Alonso will drive for Ferrari are partially true.

And Kevin Bacon will be in the movie, so in fact everything is related to Kevin Bacon.
