Tough decision to make. Believe it was advertised on craighlist a few weeks ago. If you want to keep the car for a long time, maybe it is worth to consider. However, the price is just right there on the milies. Sum it up, it is an ok deal, my very subjective opinion.

Make sure the major services are done and the clutch is in good shape. If not, you'll find yourself in the $100k range very quickly.

I think it's a great looking 360 Modena but I'd look very carefully thru it's service history before making a purchase.

Geeze, And I thought I got a good deal.. Not sure how that color plays a roll on the value, but personally I'm not really feeling it. I will add in, that already in the first month I have had quite a few things go wrong on my 99 360 that had the full 30k service and a new clutch job.. 35k on the odo. I bought it from a local Ferrari dealer and they took care of everything at no charge. That alone is worth some peace of mind in my opinion. It might be worth it to pay a little more for a car that has someone standing behind it. (Local dealer.. etc)

I've personally gone out to see the car and test driven it... it has several problems: 1) Interior is quite worn. 2) Incomplete service records (although car did have major service including clutch done last year I think). 3) Biggest problem is a weird clunking that comes from the steering column upon low speed maneuvering. On the upside, exterior of the car is in good shape and car has 10 months left on its extended powertrain warranty (engine and transmission only).

Zero feedback on the seller maybe should work into your calculation too. 1st thing he sells on ebay is a car? Most guys work their way up to a big ticket item.

    Love the color.

    Love the color as well.
I say go for it. Stick a set of factory modulars on it and make sure it's mechanically sound, before you buy it. Drive it often, and aggressively. Smile a lot. Laugh at those who leave theirs in the garage, die happy.

If the service is up to date and all recalls performed, why not. Great color I think. Make him an offer.

You can't expect a perfect car in any brand with 40K on it. Just use the wear and tear as a bargaining chip.

I don't know if this is the same car as one that I looked at for someone here in Florida at a used car dealer about a year ago. If it's not from Florida about a year ago, disregard. If so, the car looked a bit worn when I saw it. Not terrible, but not something you're going to bring to Cavallino. It drove ok and everything seemed to work when I drove it. My 2 cents. Good luck, and whatever car you plan on, get a PPI.

Personally I think the rims are bad taste too ghetto bling bling and the color is ugly. But what do I know I only like Rosso Corsa.

Thanks for all of the responses. I actually like the color, it's growing on me. I plan to drive it everyday, which is why the mileage doesn't really bother me (in fact, I prefer it like that... I know it's not a garage queen!). My goal with these cars is to enjoy them for a while (6 months to a year), and then sell it for as little a loss as possible. Usually, that means buying low :)

I made the mistake with my Gallardo of buying a pristine car... I ended up driving it rarely, because the mileage was low. I'll never make that mistake again. My 996tt had 63k miles, so I drove it everyday :)

Anyone recommend a shop for the PPI that's near Westwood, CA?

Dang, it just sold! Darn business trip made me one day too late. Oh well, the quest continues. If anyone finds a high mileage 360, let me know!

I do want more info, but your price seems insanely high for a 45k mile euro car. I can get US car with less miles for about the same price. Contact me if you are willing to bring the price down significantly...

I don't know what significant is to you but my car won't be in the $80's (paid $95 in April). While it is a Euro car (and I can't find a case where that was a bad thing once the warranty is up) it's also a Red, 3 pedal car without any rigged up bling (if you don't count the challenge wheels :) ), has had a PPI with leakdown and compression in the last 8 months and all previous owners are accounted for on this forum and can speak to the history of the car and it's maintenance.

I also looked for quite a while to find a car with some miles on it that had every document from inception to date and didn't have any of the usual gremlins (dash lights, mechanical recalls, all relevant services etc.) and this one was the nicest hands down. I had the paint detailed to my specs, disassembled the interior to clean and detail, performed a very thorough cleaning and treatment of the leather with leatherique products. While I was there I replaced the door lock handles (I believe that was about $750.00 alone) so it wouldn't look like all the other cars I saw for sale with the chewed up rubber parts! So in short I guess what I'm saying is it's a great car for the money and that I can move a bit but in the long run you get what you pay for!

Thanks for the reply and good luck with the search.
