good news!!! the 0052M win in Pebble Beach 2007
Class L-2 (Postwar Preservation through 1967)

here a link with the preservation document made by the Owner, really interesting for the motivation.

Thanks for sharing your pictures, really beautifull. I love this car and i can confirm you the owner is a Gentleman, someone rare.

Here one of the pic made by the owner last august in Pebble Beach, just before to win the price Postwar Preservation through 1967

I have just stumbled across this thread, sorry.

But I must say it has had me glued to my seat for the past 2 hours or so, and I have read every post, better than any Da Vinci Code all in search of the holy grail.

I understand the owners choice not to spoil and restore the vehicle more than was necessary, I just wish I lived the other side of the pond, so I could view the car in person at one of the shows.

    GREAT...

Another thread I have to go back and read every word of...

Is this car supposed to have 3x2 webers? I thought the 166 had 3x4 webers.

I'm pretty sure that those carbs are original (or have been with the car for most of it's life).

Also, I've never heard of 3*4 on anything smaller than a 250.

    Regards,

    Art S.

Now the question is DO you restore? or Not restore?

    I vote on the NOT

Actually the owner approached me while I was looking at the car at Moroso during the Cavallino Classic and asked " What do you think?"
I said two words to Manny (I dont know him) "Over Restored!" It was a great moment for me. I have always been more interested in 1960s Ferraris but this little car has expanded my horizons. It was magnetic in the way it drew attention! It was the story of last years
    Cavallinoi Classic.

Can you tell us how you found the car? I don't mean to intrude but it is probably of great interest to all of us? I will ofcourse understand if it is confidential.
