O.K. I've been reading several threads about the Gallardo. I'm thinking of making the switch from my 355 to one. So, I know the issues with the clutches. What else should I be aware of? Where is the best place to search for a clean, serviced, reasonable car? I have contacted Catsexotics. You guys sound like good guys. Where else shoud I look? All information on these beasts is greatly welcomed. Again, I have done several searches and read quite a bit so please don't tell me to "search the threads". I'm looking for current impressions and fresh information. Like, how is the 04 with an updated clutch and e-gear drive? I've been in a 07 but haven't driven an 04. How good is the e-gear? Thanks in advance for whatever you can share. Scott "Should I or Shouldn't I?" Oh well, can't spell check the title!
IMO every year the cars from 04 and up have gotten better. How much better compared to the more you pay? That is up to the buyer. I think a 04 E-gear car that HAS had the NEW upgrade clutch put into it is a good buy for the price now a days, and there are quite a few of those out there, I have 3 of them,...the 05 has the lift option, nice but is it worth the extra bucks, are you in an area that you need to use it?? With no style changes from 04-08, other than wheels, (which you can buy seperate and install if you wish) you cant tell the diff between these cars. For me I alwyas like to buy a car that has already taken the hit. I like to buy it, make sure I like the car, then always upgrade 6 months or so latter, then I dont loose my ass and I have learned about the car in the meantime at a fair price. Just my 2 cents
Roy: Thanks, I am looking at your cars. I sold one of mine this week and looking to the second sale as well. I'll give you a call about the blue 04. Thanks, Scott
if you have an 04 car and are going to replace the clutch go with 06 sintered clutch used in the manual cars. It works with E-gear I used on on my twin turbo Gallardo. worth the extra money IMHO.
Hi Scott, Not to step on Cats Exotic's toes. We have a beautiful silver six-speed Gallardo in stock (along with many other years and options). These clutches are outstanding. We have a client that uses his 2004 Gallardo as his every-day car in Texas. He actually drove it regularly from Texas to Chicago to visit his girlfriend and put 40,000 miles on it in one year without replacing the clutch - unbelievable. The recommended service is around every 7,000 miles on these. Every year does get better. Check out the car at: http://lamborghiniohio.com/used_vehicle_details.htm?vehicleId=3644b35a4046381e00c27081ef62bf54 Ask for Harvey Ford 800.606.9595 - he is a great guy and very knowledgeable as Lamborghini Ohio's dedicated Lamborghini consultant. If it only had a back seat! I'd trade my DD 997S right now Paulie. My kids get pissed at me with the tiny back seats now. Lambo Ohio is a great bunch of guys! Great reputation too. Dave
Thanks Paulie: I saw your car on Ebay. It looks outstanding and I will give you a call if my Ferrari sells tonight. Thanks, Scott
