Just curious as to who is into racing kart's? I hope to have another shifter within a year or two, I miss the rush! Here's a pic of my old kart:
Thats right this place sucks if you wanna race they shut alot of other events down and now theres like only the Rocky mountain sportscar club is the only thing that runs locally everything else was cancelled.
....I retired........raised $68,000.00 for Child Advocates, Inc. though. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yah that's the track I used to go too also, the Katy track. I miss karting alot and hope to buy another shifter asap. Is the track still closed for the addition? That red driving suit look's exactly like mine although I have alot of F1 team patch's on mine.
I started looking into karting. But would a 6'4" 200lbs guy fit in one of those? And if I did fit would my extra weight keep me from being competitive?
I'm 5'11 and 220lb's but that did not stop me from coming within 2sec's of the 100cc lap record my very first time in a kart. Seat's come in different size's and as with alot of racing serie's momentum is the biggest contributing factor. I've seen people that out-weigh you in kart's turn blistering lap's.
Found this 5 mins on google. http://www.greatnorthernrotaxseries.com/overview.html Karted in highschool, ran TaG for a year, and had to give it up due to college. After college it is on....
When I retired from racing superbikes, I started with a shifter kart. Still have it, but don't get to use it enough. ICC 125 shifter, Ital kart. Neat unit, took 5th overall for the old man's series at Infenion a few years back. Neat unit, but not even close to the Ducati I rode.... Art
Been racing on and off since I was 7; Yamaha, ICA, etc. Lately I have been racing Rotax and TAG. There are classes for heavy guys so you guys can still be competitive.

I was REALLY into karts before I trashed my right foot. Had three 125cc sprint karts. Had a blast with Art, Red and other Fchatters who were generous enough to kick in with expenses for recreatioal track days...Did many! Never raced, but it was a lot of fun going to a couple of local tracks for a day and banging around! I drove Art's shifter a couple times (Way to crazy fast for this old fart!). I never wanted to race though because: 1) Had too much fun just runing aroud on open track days with my friends. 2) The time waiting, etc. at the races and the crowds did not appealto me. 3)Simply had a lot more fun driving with friends on the track Vs racing with 25 guys that were out to kill anyone in their path!
