I too call B.S but not 100%. There is the slight chance this may be all true. You just never know nowadays. His mail box was clearly full. There are a few users here with the money, the contacts and the know-how to quickly send this guy a good offer to the rights of this car (Once proven to exist of course) and grab it.

And then never mention anything on this thread again ;)

    ....just a thought :D

Dissapointing that this is likely to be another 'too good to be true' fallacy. Some folk go to such great lengths to impress the f-chatters. :p

    Dear Comrade Tarek K,

When you say 'the subject' I am presuming this to be the subject of the thread. i.e. the F-40. So why has it been buried?

    With kind regards,

    512 Tea Are

(I am not sure if this has already been noted but I am to busy to check)
hate to bring this post back up to the top, but
I am sure this story could be plausible but the major problem this Saudi guy has with his story Is that the car has moved between the two pictures?
He said it is not running and in the two different picture the car is not in the same place, and where the car is in the second picture (right in front to the roll up door) is not exactly the place you leave a car for an extended period of time with the cover on. Just my two cents. I suggest if anyone is really serious about finding this car contact Saudi (dmv) or whatever they have over there and get a list of all the owners of F40's, I am not going to get into the details of all the slightly legal ways this info can be obtained but lets just say Saudi officials are not known for their steadfast enforcement of laws when money is in the mix.

Oh the car runs alright according to "demo". :D

What's even more confusing is this: user "demo"...."Last Activity: Today 04:56 PM"

Demo, if you are reading please get back to us!!! ;)

    Still a fun story...
    Good luck to the kid.
30K is a stupid number... However it is not unheard that a cash-in-hand bundle of a flat 100k (just because of the psychological implications--30K sounds too calculating; a flat 100 shows that you care as little about the money as the owner of the car cares about the car, putting you on an even playing field that allows an exchange to happen... I'm probably not making myself understood but I've been involved in a couple of middle eastern deals where we could have gotten something essentially for free but made an 'offering' that was a nice, even number--out of courtesy :) )
Which is just to say that if that car really is there in the aforementioned circumstances then it can probably be had for quite a bargain.

  12. Still, you somehow wish it were true, don't you? Go on, admit it... :p

Yes, that's the whole trouble with urban legends (or any legends.) We really, really want them to be true, even if it requires a complete departure from logic and reason.

Heck, Bigfoot and the Yeti COULD exist. It's POSSIBLE. . .

I've heard from Demo and he has secured agreement to purchase the F40. There is just one snag, for his own security he can not be seen to be part of the transaction. Because he is in need of your help he is willing to split the profits of the cars sale with you. The agreed price for the car is the equivilant to US$75k. If you are able to help Demo by making the nessersary wire trasfer then the car will be transferred to your name. He will still expect his half of the profits when sold.
PM me if you would like to be part of this opportunity and I will supply you with the bank account details.

This is the funniest thread ever.

    Demo,
I know the car & the shop it is in. They even have a white 550 with some damage to the front end.
I was interested in the 550, but the price they asked for + the cost of parts and repairs can get me another one in a very good condition without a history of body damage and spray jobs.
Believe me, your problem is the two greedy mechanics and the prince's servant who all want to profit from the forgotten cars parked there. They keep telling people that the prince was offered around $ 200K for the F-40 and he declined.
Give me a PM, I have an interesting solution for both of us.

I'll be in Jeddah on 5th January. I'll be interested in buying the car myself or as a share with you. Let me know if there is an opportunity. Also where in KSA is the car?

    Thanks

While others were debating whether this is a legitimate thread, I have flown to Saudi Arabia and purchased the car. Import duties and first class shipping have been secured, and the car is currently en route across the Atlantic in a container ship scheduled to arrive in New York harbor on 14 January, 2008.

While I will not disclose what I paid for the car, it will be sold at private auction on 21 January. PM me if you wish to bid.

I shall expect an earnest money deposit of $10,000 sent to my bank account by wire transfer on or before 30 December, 2007 for the right to bid. This is merely a guarantee of the right to bid, and will be refunded to all participants after the auction, minus a small fee, or applied to the purchase price of the highest bidder.

Don't miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! Bidding starts at a mere $30k!
