Hi My 400i 1983 was first bought by Bill Wyman of the Rolling Stones.. From memory I have a short list of 'famous ' owners of these cars. Can anyone add further! Maybe someone has a film clip of photo with the car and the star? The List My car 400i car Bill Wyman Rolling Stones guitarist Enzo Ferrari used the 400i as his daily car to the factory Richard Burton (actor) had one whilst married to Elizabeth Taylor Whitney Houston (singer) Mr Heineken (the brewery magnate) also Tom Cruise drove a 400 model in the film Jerry Maguire (1996) Im told that a famous owner can add 15% to value !
Once a 400 was imported to the US its history is rather transparent, but how can the cars info before that be traced?
Warner Le Roy owned 412 s/n 66557. Audrey Meadows owned 400i 29867. The Richard Burton car was 38669.

That said, you may find the above link extremely useful - if you know how to work it. *wiggles eyebrows*
I saw that car last March - it's in the 'vault' at the Petersen Museum in L.A. Not sure if they're going to rotate it into display any time soon. There was a blue one in Rain Man. Was there one in Jerry Maguire too?
I recall that Wilt Chamberlain had a 400i -- these guys claim they did the work: http://www.sunspeed.com/sunspeed.html
Norm beechey ,twice Australian Touring car Champion had a early manual 365,amongst his car's was the 1st man to race a '64 Mustang and won the ATCC in it and then in '70 won the title in his "Trans Aus" 350 Monaro against a hord of Mustangs,Camaro's and 2.5 litre Porsche 911 's. google the man ot your tube him.
The sammy Davis Jr. car was on ebay when I was looking for my 308 back in Nov - Dec of 2000 it was a 76 and I believe it had 8,XXX miles on it.
I just can't imagine Wilt cramping into one of these. My dad introduced me to him @ 30th St. station/Philly when I was 7 yrs. old (I wasn't as high as his crotch at the time). I've been meaning to pull the undertray pans above the mid-section exhaust boxes to see if I can shift the driver's seat rails back further, @ 5'-10 1/2" I still kind of feel cramped.
I didn't know who Wilt was so I checked him out - according to Wikipedia "He... became notorious for his claim to have had sex with 20,000 women..." Being so irresistible to the ladies is obviously a common problem for 400 owners! Aidan
Evil Kenievel had a red 365 with Montana plates. Apparently he had been able to keep it in Montana without having to federalize the car (which no one was doing at that time). Jeff

Hi The Vin is 45005 its silver with two tone blue leather. Always happy to post a few pics. Please note I have kept the old mobile phone to keep it as it was when first bought. As for finding ownership details of imported Ferraris to th US I would contact the Vehicle Licencing Authority in the respective countries or the FO Clubs.
