November '06 I had to rebuild the water pump (impeller, seals and gaskets) because it was leaking.
Now, a year and 3k miles later, the pump began leaking again.
Is this a common issue on 360's? Is there any superior quality aftermarket rebuild kit?
    Thanks.

I don't believe in rebuild water pumps... Had 2 OEM water pump failed on me on my Porsche, finally went with an original factory unit which solved the leaking issues.

The pump was rebuilt with OEM parts. Everything inside the casing was replaced. Yet, it failed again.

I am with Robin on this, rebuilt waterpumps suck. all it takes is a nick on the shaft or a slight dimensional problem and it leaks again.

An overtightened belt will kill waterpumps again and again, OEM or rebuilt has no effect on that fact.

Also, keep in mind that anti-freeze serves as your waterpump lubricant.

Some people run straight water in their cooling systems, which is great for cooling the motor but lousy at keeping the waterpump intact.

Likewise, dirty coolant is bad for waterpump longevity.

    Thank you, NO DOUBT.
You were right. The belt was a bit overtight. First, it came like this from the dealer when they did the ring gear/flywheel factory recall, plus a timing belt change. It did not last too long before it began leaking.
Now, this morning we took it apart, and the main pump seal was busted, and the shaft is slightgly bent. Another lesson learned.
    Thanks again/
    Ed
