Go to www.allferrariparts.com and type in the F PN 148404 = UFI # 23.310.00 www.allferrariparts.com is a great resource for "extra" vendor information in the part descriptions -- and very, very good prices IMrecentE. www.ricambiamerica.com also has good photos of most parts (but, in this case, the UFI PN doesn't show in the photo).
My car had a Testarossa oil filter on it when I got it. When I did my first oil change I noticed the 512TR filter (UFI from Ricambi) was shorter and does not extend below the frame as the Testarossa filter does. I think the concern would be the possibility of the Testarossa filter being sheared off as it is possibly exposed to road hazards. John
It is NOT the same as a TR filter: http://www.ricambiamerica.com/product_info.php?cPath=75&products_id=261257
Why are you guys bringing the TR oil filter into this discussion? F PN 148404 = UFI # 23.310.00 is the 512TR oil filter.
Because it's Fchat! Frankly, I'm expecting John Lamour to arrive with some xxx pictures soon too. Actually, I think folks are bringing the TR into the discussion simply to say that although it might "fit" a 512TR, it is incorrect to run one.
Daniel is correct about my comment. Even though the Testarossa filter fits, don't use it. I didn't know it was there until I discovered it during my first oil change. Before I bought the car I had a PPI done and reviewed the service records. Very service impressive history but still someone put the wrong filter in the car.
