I don't know if this has been done, but it would be a good idea. Take 1 of every Ferrari model made and race them. I'd like to see who places where. How about you?

Top Gear should do something similar.

Good question and in a way it has been done :

Almost every Ferrari has been tested around their track at Fiorano in Italy

And somewhere on the net - maybe even on this site - is a list of the times

    Can anyone help here ?

Thank you! Sadly, my beloved 348 came in last place, or close to it.

I think I need more power :) Might be looking at a 360 Modena, maybe even Novitec. Theres 16 years till I'm planning on getting a Ferrari, or atleast I'm hoping.

I bet to Novitec your 360 it'll cost around 50k easy, so that might not be an option lol.

...and the 348 is 1 second behind. Didn't think it was that close between them.

    13-year old,

"How fast does it go?" is the question I get most often whenever I'm out with my Ferrari. The answer, in practical terms, is only as fast as it's safe to drive, which is often not even the speed limit.

I think your question is an interesting one, and a good academic question. However, if you really love the 348, don't avoid getting it based solely on its HP or track times, unless you're planning to drive it almost exclusively on the track!

My own dearly beloved 308 is certainly not one of the faster or more powerful modern Ferraris, by far, but I've never been in an all-out race with it, and never will be. Still, it's a pure joy to drive, and (IMHO) the most beautiful car ever made.

Realistically, HP is great for bragging rights and for track days, but out on the street you rarely, if ever, get to use all the available HP of even the most pedestrian of vehicles.

I was about a year younger than you are when I made up my mind that I'd have a 308 someday. Now I do! In the meantime, other (less attractive) models have sprung up that are far more powerful. Before you decide what you want, decide WHY you want it. If it's the 348 that really sets your passions alight - and I agree that it's spectacular - then don't let the relative lack of HP hold you back.

I guess I've just chose it because of the style, which I really like, its fairly fast, and cheap. The reason that I've been basing my decision completely on speed and stuff is because I can only compare cars from the computer. I obviously can't get out and see em, let alone drive them. My dad loves cars too, so we go out sometimes to dealerships and sees when the next 355 is coming in and I try desperately to get my dad to buy one. That being said, thanks for the advice. I can't really imagine myself in a 360 come to think of it, too modern for me. Makes me think I'm trying to be like Johnny Depp or something like that. The 348 has more style and history.

    Andy,

I think you're one 13-year old with his head screwed on straight.

Styling IS a good reason to choose a car. You will look at it nearly every day.

You're right: The 348 has gorgeous styling and history. Aesthetically, I prefer it to the 360 as well.

    Thanks for the reply.

I am amazed the 333 SP beet out the FXX by 4.3 seconds... think about that for a moment... 4.3 seconds and 15 years.

Thats the second time I've ever seen the car. I really would think that the FXX is faster though.

Close enough to still keep my point. And, so that it's obvious, my point is that the FXX is not a racing car.

I have to see another source because I believe this one to be in error.

I do not believe the respecive times for the 575 and 599 are correct.

I saw a table that listed the 599 just a tick behind the Enzo. Now I'll have to go look.

Could it have been the track time for a 575 GTC Evoluzione?

That thing is nasty, and one of very few Ferraris that looks good in flat black.
