I hadn't actually gone back to the Atlas F1 TNF 'Personal photos from the paddock' thread, since, Macca (like yourself, I simply don't have time to keep up with ALL these motoring forums), but thanks for giving your question a 'bump' and pointing out Doug Nye's reply:

    http://forums.autosport.com/showthread.php?postid=2963663#post2963663 .... There you go, Francis. ;)

Actually, Paul - your photo isn't the exactly same one. Similar, Yes - but check the kerb border line against #0834's roof-line. ;)

Thanks for sharing, all the same. :)

Poor quality (very small photo scanned from a book) but interesting... The great Scarfiotti at work in #0834 barchetta, at the Ollon-Villars hillclimb.

Nice shots.I will be coming out with a 1/24 resin model of the #834 hillclimb spider 166P with a 206 motor soon.
Its will be under the Scale Designs brand and will go along with my 166P Lemans/Nurburgring 1965 1/24 kit already
released.I am also planning on making #0834 Targa Florio 1967(Tasman 206 special motor). It looks like #0834
remained with its original body until early September 1967.When did the car now calling itself #0834 first race with the later
    style 206 body??

O.K. So I've relented. My scanner is working O.K. again, but my copy of Cavalleria #10 is now starting to fall apart like the others. :(

    Blame it on 'GIOTTO'. :D
Here's a couple of slightly clearer photos, scanned from Cavalleria #10. Images are copyright the Adriano Cimarosti Collection ©.

Ah, I see what you’re getting at now, Tom ;) …. despite your slightly unfortunate choice of wording. :(

It seems although #0834 was upgraded to 206S (and more later) specification, mechanically in '66 – at the same time, gaining a 206S windshield; rear 'basket handle' upper tail; front and rear winglets, etc. …. It appears to have retained the major sections of its original 1965 bodywork till (at least) the end of the '67 season.

Here are a couple of photos of #0834 on the '67 Targa Florio – driven by Jonathan Williams, scanned from Cavalleria #10. Both images are credited to, and hence copyright LAT Photographic ©. The colour front view photo obviously shows the earlier 'single-headlight' nose (with external sidelights added) and the B&W shot shows the curvature of the original rear wings, with slight flaring of the wheelarches.

Barchetta doesn't shed any light on when the car received what appears to be a full ('66-style) re-body as a 206S:

It's nice to think that, maybe one day, current owner Harry Leventis might just consider converting #0834 back to her former 1965 style 166P bodywork. However, with his current repair bills for P3/4 #0844, that's probably the furthest thing from his mind, right now. :(

IMHO, it's still a very pretty little car .... and if you look at it from certain angles, and squint .... :)

Thanks for the photos(although I have almost all of them already)Didnt they build 3 early type
    Dino Chassis:#0834 166P 573 frame,#0840 Pininfarina berlinetta and #0842 with 584 frames with
#0842 being destroyed, killing Gunther Klass at Mugello. If #0842 was detroyed what chassis is the 212E mountain car then?
The 212E is supposed to have an early type chassis ,so did they rebuild 0842 from a total
    writeoff?

    I love these early Dinos!!
An early restored Dino 166P would be so nice.

By the way,I know that the car Harry Leventis has is a real early Dino.I am just trying to figure what happened at the factory in late 1967 with these early Dinos.Just making that clear.
