    Gran turismo (sp.?)

    Quoted me $750.

    2 car haul enclosed trailor.

Im thinking about about going down there and driving it myself.

    The gallardo has 16,000 miles.

    280 mile drive.

    9/15 mpg

    $ 3.50/gallon

    $125 round trip

so basically gas is not a monetary issue.

My major concern, will the roads be kind to my car, rock chips etc.

Hardly seems far enough to ship a car (unless it doesn't run).

Whadaya mean about the roads? That is what the car is for isn't it?

I drove the 100 miles from Tampa to Sebring last weekend averaging about 100 mph and got 15 mpg; good stuff! :) Of course I went through two tanks of gas averaging 4.5 mpg while on the track. LOL

Normally, I would say DRIVE IT without hesitation, however the roads between here and OC are horrible. They are ALWAYS under construction with more and more traffic by the day. I would ask some of the so cal people if anyone has made that trip recently. I haven't done it in a year or so.

Roads in very good condition. Do the drive 2-3 times a month. Have even done it in both 360 and Lambo. I've picked up worse s**t on the 91 fwy! A couple of areas down to single lane restriction but not for very long, and lots of new tarmack.

Not a problem, just glad we could help you out and make you happy. I myself love the V-1 Radar unit...IMO it has always been the best...I am sure others can chime in. But you really should drive it, will give you a chance to learn your car. ANd a rock chip or two, big deal, touch it up with a little paint...enjoy it!!

Drive it - but perhaps if you are so concerned with rock chips you can get a 3M Clear Shield kit: http://www.invisiblemask.com/cgi-bin/products_ip/browser.cgi?prevtype=Automobiles+and+light+trucks&prevyear=2004&prevmake=LAMBORGHINI+%28LAM%29&prevmodel=&prevsubmodel=&prevseries=&type=Automobiles+and+light+trucks&year=2004&make=LAMBORGHINI+%28LAM%29&model=GALLARDO

Also, if you want to get really high tech and spend some serious money on the radar system, here is an installed, in-dash system that senses and jams radar systems - with bluetooth technology: http://k40.com/

    Paulie :)

DRIVE IT! I was passing through Denver in June in my first Murci which I bought from Roy. I stopped by Lamborghini Denver and fell in love with another Murci which I ended up buying. I then drove from Denver to Vegas for a couple of days, then to northern California, then back to Seattle. That ONE day I didn't have a radar detector, guess what? Yes, pulled over by Utah's finest. I didn't have a power cord because I had my Valentine 1 (the best IMHO) hard wired into my other Murci. I did have another power cord over-nighted to Lamborghini Las Vegas and when I got to town stopped by and picked it up. No more tickets the rest of the trip. And I ended up getting the one in Utah dismissed.

Radar jammers are not legal. Laser jammers are in most states - I'm not sure about California.

Valentine One's radar dectectors to my knowledge are only available online: www.valentineone.com

Just out of curiosity since it hasn't happened to me; what happens when you get a ticket in a different state than your home/registration? And does your insurance company still find out?

All 50 states have an inter act compact to cross refrence and report all tickets to the home state license holder.

Yes, your insurance company will find out. The states share an incredible amount of information now.
