I tried to buy the second one (boxer trim) from Shelton eariler this year. Looks like the guy only had it 8 months or so.

    Really nice car.

Love that Boxer trim one ... Love those cars. I had mine for a few months and must say .... the 308/328/348 and 355 are all amazing. But, love the 308's!!

I like the first description, where there's an essay on why the broken a/c is actually an asset. :)

These are the usual caliber of eBay 308s -- and the reason why eBay is the garbage pit of the Ferrari world.

The QV is a good car, seen it in person quite a few times, know the owner also. If it was not for the boxer trim I would of brought it.

I agree; a wee bit brash. If the Enzo I saw on eBay a few weeks ago is considered 'garbage' then I'd hate to hear what is thought of lesser models ;)

was something wrong with the trim, or is it you just dont like the look of it ?

The crack on that trim, looks like rust.

I have to agree with Bullfighter....these 308s do look rough, amour all on the tires is usually the give away when you take the picture 10 feet away.

Sheldon was asking $43k for it back in March. I couldn't figure if the boxer trim was stock but it looked like it'd been painted over the red and was masking some nicks and scrapes underneath. It was done in the flat black and looked good overall.

The radar detector was a bit of a turn off too.

Overall it was a decent car though

Rough, possibly. The one with the boxer trim appears to be all there. Heck, for $35G's it is really not too far off for a "good" 83. You can't find them here in Canada for that. I'd offer $28G's. I'd think it's a nice start for anyone looking for a first Fcar. Just my 2 cents. :)

Actually, there's nothing wrong with your eyes. You can't tell from these photos of the QV, but there are a few things that will keep this one from bringing top-tier 308 money.

The interior looks "off" - possibly already dyed a couple of times, but these photos in glaring sunlight don't really show anything.

As mentioned above there's a thick layer of Armor-All on the tires, which is the hallmark of amateur detailing.

There's some kind of goofy steering wheel cover (maybe instead of replacing the worn out OEM?) and looks like a radar detector mounted in the instrument nacelle. Hopefully nothing was drilled.

Finally, not to read too much between lines, the guy has had the car less than a year and is selling due to financial hardship. It could be a good driver if bought for <$30K, and the seller sounds honest enough. However it's not the sort of car that should have desire308 feeling buyer's remorse.

The one that we should all be agonizing over right now is the stunning blue Euro 308 QV at Motorcars Int'l in Springfield MO, asking price $40K, 24K miles, $24K recent mechanical work. That will be "one that got away" for anyone outside of CA looking for a nice QV, and for only $5K more than this eBay car's Buy-It-Now price.
