In this era of computerized ignition, digital fuel injection, carbon fiber structural elements and other high tech goodies; why do certain Ferraris and other exotics still have that GOOFY, UGLY, STUPID looking parking brake handle that sticks up from the center console like the control levers on a 1930s vintage farm tractor? Has the possibility of parking brake activitation advancement completely eluded the great engineering minds of the automotive manufacturing world? Why not utilize a push button, electrically activated, ratchet latching, stepping relay and eliminate that giant 1937 HOE HANDLE from the interior of high tech exotic cars?

Count your blessings you have the traditional parking brake. The new units sometimes freeze or have an ECU failure. The traditional brake allows more control of the car and the ability to use it to do more advanced/fun driving methods;). It also helps keep the cost of the car down, something no one would complain about as far as I know.
