A friend of mine in Vegas asked me what his 2005 F430 Spider is worth. He is considering selling. I told him that I would ask the experts. Thanks for your help!

2005 Spider (early 05', one owner)
    14,000 miles
    US model (not Euro)
needs front bumper, front quarter panels, hood, mirrors respray (lots of desert sand and stone wear)
    red/tan
    F1
    carbon engine kit
    electric daytonas
    tire pressure monitor
    shields
    ball polished wheels
    power hi-fi
major belt service not performed (other service done as per schedule, with documentation)
    original clutch (percentage wear unknown)
    interior - very good condition

    Thanks,

    Tim

Thew 430 does not require the infamous belt service associated with the earlier cars. Can't speculate on the cost of repairs however, a proper, no stories '05 430F1 Spider w/14K is approx. 235K

I do not mean to suggest that the front end is damaged. Instead, the front end (bumper, quarter panels, hood, mirrors) are sand/ pebble blasted and in desperate need of a repaint. I would estimate that the repaint would cost approximately $8000.

I agree with Drew, so with the extra wear and repaint, i would think think more like 210-215k $....

$210-$215 would be the lowest priced F430 Spider that I have ever seen. I wonder if this is realistic?

    Tim,
I would look at it a little differently. I go by MSRP. What was MSRP on this car in 2005? Also I think you need to do the paint work before you sell. It has high miles in F Land so my SWAG opinion is 5 to 10 percent over 2005 MSRP for a private party sale. A F dealer should get at least 5% more and maybe 10%.

Sorry, I think I screwed up the math...make that more like 220-225k $...210 would have been a sweet deal for sure.......

Re-spraying more then the front bumper of a Ferrari will undoubtedly raise the eyebrows of potential buyers. With that in mind, I would take details pictures before/during/after the work.

i am also in in need of a front end respray, just small paint chips from spirited drive. with proper documentation through pictures, and a quality respray, what kind of hit would one resonably be looking at taking? my situation is a little different, i have factory stripe, stradale. opinions?

OK 240-250K but maybe I am being too optimistic.

I think if you can show that there was no damage other than rock chips, I don't think there would be a hit. I re-sprayed my front end due to normal wear and tear. I have before and after pics showing there was never any body work done or collision damage to any part of the car.

As I factor in the miles I am thinking 230K.

So far, we have the following opinions:

    1) $227,000 ($235,000 minus $8000 paint) PCH
    2) $222,500 (average of $220-$225 range) scycle2020
    3) $230,000 lapeter

    Good input...any other thoughts?

Predicated on exactly what and how much work was needed. IMO re-spraying items due to normal wear such as the front bumper cover, mirror backs, wheels, or rear portion of the side sills is quite normal and should not yield any deductions. Obviously the more refinishing work required the higher potential for deductions. Personally I'd rather not have to refinish anything so paint protection film is my friend.

    Drew is right.
Remember that 14k Miles seems like a small number but is actually not to buyers

I do not have a stripe and because I have a pretty good relationship with the body shop I got a killer deal. I don't think the owner would want me to say how much I paid. Retail on my paint job would probably be around $6,000 - $7,000.

I think youre looking in the 220-230 range due to perceived high mileage, 2005 MY, need to put some dollars into paint work, etc. If youre selling privately maybe he can achieve 240 and if selling to a dealer it may be down around 215-220- hence my guestimate. This is simply my own WAG. I wish him luck. I agree with the others that the mileage should not scare off a knowledgeable buyer but it will scare off a fair share of buyers. Also note, the CF engine kit, while very cool looking, is not something youre likely to get your money back on and the lack of CCM brakes, now a "mandatory option", hurts.

    best regards,
    Jerry
