I saw one somewhere and it looked mean. It had a red line around the very lip of the rim--they were stock wheels painted black. Anyone have these or have thoughts on them?

Looks good. What are your thoughts since you saw it up close and personal?

I've always liked black or anthracite wheels. IMO they make the car look more aggresive. I think it's very subjective and comes down to what the owner wants. On a side note, I just bought a new Black X5 and put black wheels with a chrome lip on them. I think it's the first time in 30 years I changed from stock wheels but I wanted something sportier.

Jon cause you're the man. I plan to only have black rims for quite some time. In the next week or two I will be in contact with you about some things, could you PM me your email? Always appreciated, t

I am actually preparing to paint one of my sets of wheels for my red 360 black. I plan to paint the centers black with polished lip. I have four sets of wheels, and was planning on painting my Speedline Challenge replica wheels that way. As soon as it is done, I plan to post pics.

I saw this one and it looks pretty cooool.

Yeah, I want to know what you guys think. I find that, for the most part, when many weigh-in, the opinion is right-on. Your thoughts??? Do it, or no?

I have a 360 Spider that will be sporting 20x8.5 and 20x11.5 DCR Catalunya wheels with black centers. I have included a photo of the wheel polished, any photoshop people out there that can help? Black centers with polished/chrome rivits and lip.

Very nice. Is that a flat or satin black on the wheels?

If you're talking about the DCR wheels they will be a Matte Black. It should look really good on my 360 as it's Silver. As you can see I had HRE 547R(s) on it but I wasn't too fond of the polished on the silver. The black on Silver will give it the look that I am looking for, more aggressive. By the way I ordered the Imola rings for the vents yesterday...;~)

    Dang, that looks good!

Rings: Given the progress with the manufacturers, I would not be surprised if it took three or four months. They either want a massively large order, don't carry the quality and grade of aluminum I want, or have put my prototype so far back I cancel. I'm not much on patience either and may end-up ordering from them as well just to get them in my hands.

The problem is getting the dies done right, the aluminum finish correct and the quality right. So, the cost is of these efforts has to be amortized over many sets so by the time you bring it to market, you will be into $200ish (depending how many I can sell). I was going to have 1,000 sets made. The cost is all over the board. I have warehouse space available and can store them no problem.

There is an outside chance I can have them made in Vietnam (the dies). Also, I plan to have them made in different finishes. We'll see...

    I love your car.

    Bill~

Please don't shoot me for hijacking the thread, just a little. Any photos of a yellow 360 with the factory wheels in black? Be interested in seeing it with yellow lip also. Sorry brokenarrow! BTW - The black on red looks awesome!
