All you need is a pair of snow shoes, and a Napoleon Dynamite look a like contest! Cool cars though! My mom would have killed for your corvette!
you're rite 4 once...stopped clock/twice a day/correctomundo...did say '58 too but you went ahead w/ the Brit-paint-flag thing/German car, huh? Yas,diff for shure, but a nice job anyway maybe sorta like an iron cross on the top of a Mini...come to think that's not too far out either
2001 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner (4cyl/auto). I have been driving it since sophmore year of high school (2000) and have since graduated college...yeah...I still drive it. It only has 63,000 miles though! High school was about 1 mile away and college I'd drive to the parking lot, unload my bike, then ride my bike to get around on campus.
red 1999 v6 Mustang and as of two years ago, a white 2004 Mustang GT ...I needed something a tad faster.
i lost a bet with my dad and ended up with a '77 mgb. in its unadulterated form this car barely qualifies for the title. i was always running it hard, and when it broke i had a good excuse to juice it up a bit, so over time i must have gained at least 20bhp by ripping out the cat, swapping out the single carb for twin suv's, changing the radiator and adding an oil cooler and a few other bits and pieces. but the lucas electrics were sooooo unreliable that i was never sure of getting back from where i had gone, so i knew every mg mechanic in new hampshire and mass, and kept a lot of flat bed owner's numbers handy...the worst part about having that car in new hampshire was the cold - this car did not like the cold at all. it was a pain to start on a good day let alone at -20. and in snow, forget about it ! i did manage to find a garage but it was unheated and damp, and the tires would quite regularly freeze to the floor. it wasnt quite the babe magnet a porsche or vette would have been, but it did catch the eye of a few crumpets, so it wasnt all bad. i still have it. not because i think it might ever be more valuable, but just to see if i can have the last one that hasnt disintegrated in another 20 years....

First, a Ford Pinto with no a/c and vinyl seats. Ouch! When the engine block mercifully froze, I moved onto a 1973 Mustang...the last year of the V8 before the Mustang II entered the fray. Drove that from 1985-1987, and learned that a 70,000 mile car can mean a car that needs just about everything replaced. And replace I did: heater hoses, switches, water pump, motor mounts, tires, brakes, battery, etc. Rarely did a month go by that the beast didn't need something. It helped that my brother was a mechanic, but it also meant that he never let me forget how lucky I was to have a brother who was a mechanic. However, the Mustang had style a-plenty with its blue metallic paint and looooooong coupe lines. Shortly before graduating, I graduated to my first new car, a 1987 Honda CRX - the polar opposite of the Mustang in every regard. It was so refreshing to go from a needy older beast to a new vehicle with a superflous warranty.
Switched back and forth between 92 Mustang GT and 96 Corvette; still own both of them. Made for interesting winter commutes! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Those cars are great fun to drive. I had a friend with one in college and it was always an adventure to see if it would start or if we had to push it to get it started. Once running, it was great fun.
Sounds like the MGB was the hot ticket. Several listed those. I know my wife has always checked out guys in MGBs, but only the chrome bumper cars, she says she does have standards... Good to see some Chevy II's too!
Mostly drove my dad's old '70 Jag XJ. Sweetest car imaginable when it ran, but it was cursed with Prince of Darkness electrics and other British car craziness. My dad thought he was putting one over on me when he gave me the car, but the joke was on him: he was clearing a space for a brand new ... Lancia Beta. Absolutely beautiful but a total POS. He had to back the car up the driveway so he could use the slope to bump start it. Also, +1 for the Fiat 124. I used to borrow my sister's roadster when the Jag was in the shop. Car drove like hell, even when it had so much rust you could see the road beneath your feet. For graduation I got a Saab 99 EMS (because a BMW 2002 was, you know, too common). The car was vandalized the night I brought it home and seldom ran quite right, even after five (count 'em - five) sets of replacement fuel injectors. It was bloody quick, though, and could easily smoke a Bimmer off the line. Nasty torque steer, though.
let me guess...ground floor room...or else how many roommates did it take to carry up a flight[or two]of stairs?...v-dub eng weighs,300? maybe two can handle, but awkward. Elevators?we don't need no stink'n elevators...in a dorm? Understand the 'downfall' bit...''hey,that wasn't so bad n'only two washers and this nut left over''... all in all, impressive
I commuted to the University of Michigan-Dearborn in a red 1995 Z28 Convertible that had a Six Speed Manual with a Vortech Supercharger. It looked like a stock Z28 but it was a lot of fun to drive. I miss when gas was so cheap. Someone attempted to steal the car while I was in class one day.
Nope. The thief ripped out the ignition so the car was undriveable for me as well. GM had keys that had a sensor on them that supposedly prevented cars from being started unless that key was put in the ignition. I still think no car is steal proof though. However, even if they would have started the car and gotten away they would not have gotten far since the car was equipped with Lo Jack. Image Unavailable, Please Login
