my next trip to asia is mid-feburary. going to shanghai, thailand, malay, Philippines, Hk/TW/Macau. if anyone wants to hook up, hit me up.
Looks like you are having a great time in Asia, it's a wonderful place. Did you find out about the local f club. I will have a look in my box of old cards to see if I can find anyone. The first Italian that ran Ferrari was Ancasi, but he went, then another guy came to run it, along with an English workshop manager and an Irish chief mechanic (foreman). Enjoy, I will be back there sometime this year but I have no idea when. My car will now require a month or so in the workshop as it has not moved in 18 months and is due its belt service anyway. Regards M Collins PS the extra curricular activities will make your hair turn grey (don't ask me how I know).
i don't think there is any official local club, yet. i am in touch with the dealer manager, next time i am in town we will talk about getting a club going. i know there are enough owners locally. thx for the heads-up on the grey hair LOL.
Mhawon Yes it's not an official club and I doubt if China is ready for one just yet, but there is a local club, ask to talk to James Graham (Graham James) he would know more he is or was out at the workshops. Failing that talk to Herbert Adamchek (the manger) in Hongkong (Italian motors) he knows more than most about China Ferrari as he organised most of it. I have been to functions he has organised and he had them all there. Regards Mike Collins
I have been to Shanghai a bunch of times in the last couple of years, most recently I visited the new Shanghai Auto Museum. I have seen a bunch of Ferraris running around but I have never stayed long enough to meet any of them. I know Brian Williams, son of famous car collector Don Williams, he lives in Shanghai and studies Chinese, so if you want to hook up with him I can give you his info. He is a cool guy. I have been in Hong Kong for 6 months now for work, but I think I will be moving to Beijing instead. Does anyone know any car lovers that I can run around with in Beijing?
Hey, you can email me his email address, I will drop him a line, maybe we can catch up in Shanghai. [email protected]. thanks!
