Gentlemen, I'm suprised no one has questioned the use of the concave plug at the end of the oil galley. It might be a whole lot better to consider using a pipe tap and an allen pipe plug. Relying on a plug and a hard tap with a punch and a hammer is risky, at best. I've rebuilt many engines, some racing and some just extremely complex (Porsche 911) and I replaced all caps with pipe plugs with loctite. Something to think about!

All the best on the rebuild! Waiting for a soundbite.

All is well. Plugs in and seated correctly. Engine runs great. Gobs of oil pressure. Idles well. A few minor issues to clean up along the way, but Jon is back in business. I am sure he will take some pictures and post some audio files.

We are running it without the bell housing on. Flywheel spinning away, without pressure plate or clutch. Long story. I will let Jon fill you in.

And a safe New Year to everyone.

    Jim S.

More progress today. Running in of the engine. Will post on youtube tomorrow. Hooked up all the cables for vents and heaters and installed the rear leather and assorted pieces. Ran all the cables for the gas release, engine bay and trunk. Tomorrow Jim S. is coming down to help with the electrical making sure all is well. Plan on installing the engine next week. My son Jeff is home helping for the next 6 weeks so more will get accomplished.

Nice job, it's always nerve-wracking when you have a big piece to glue down.

Hey if anyone working at Dynamat reads this "why don't they finish the matt off in black, so it doesn't stand out like a sore thumb"?

Would Mark have time to make any more?
These are a commonly broken item in many Dinos.

    Jon:

I see that you don't have the hinged locking bar on your hatch release levers either. I forgot to reinstall mine when they were replaced last year, but now I feel better about it. It's actually kind of a pain to use anyway...

    Really cool.

I can sense your impatience in your post.

Not long now, certainly should be road worthy by the Spring, don't you think?
