Okay guys, Last year we voted on if the 355 guys should be allowed into the Brotherhood. The vote came out NO. Well since it seems to me more and more 355 guys are jumping on the band wagon of say they are in the Brotherhood, and we know it's still the 348 Brotherhood, I figured we should hold another vote. That and a few of them have man'd up and done some work on their car, which impressed me. So again we vote on if the 348 and 355 owners should unite in to a single Brotherhood, or should it be kept the 348 Brotherhood. Let's keep this to only 348 & 355 owners. Place your votes.
355 Brotherhood? No. 355 Brothership? Maybe. Uniting is, I think, impossible because the 348 Brotherhood exists primarily to defend the 348 against attacks from the more elitist Ferrari owners; and (many of) the 355 guys are especially hostile towards the 348 The 348 guys stand together as brethren to defend the 348 model. Many, and not just a few, 355 guys think the 348 is a piece of crap... so how could a 355 be in a Brotherhood with a 348? It's a contradiction in terms
hmmm.... maybe instead of BrotherHOOD, maybe BrotherLID LOL nah...that sucked...I'll go and hang myself now
I'll go along with Ernie and the Papster on this one. But wait! there's still a vote to do on the proposed 355 names that were submitted last month in a seperate thread. The proposals need to be whittled down by the the comments made to say maybe 3? and then voted on.
Ernie, it was a thread started 12/7, "Name for 355 honorary Brothers" Actually there were some good ideas put forth.I guess it's up to them to act upon it?
Why not, Together we are stronger! Look just because they are more gears and more throttle bodies doesn't mean they haven't been sewn from the same hide
my vote is just to have this thread deleted... absolutely NOTHING good can come from it. Moderators??
Actually, I think it kind of sucks that there need be a union of owners dedicated to defending the car against attacks from the other Ferrari owners. We are in fact all Ferrari owners. We all suffer criticism from all other car manufacturers on the road. We all pay outrageous maintenance costs whether it be a 355, 360, 348 or any other of the various models. And the next time you find yourself at the stop light sitting next to a Viper or a Vette just waiting to get your ass handed to you by a car costing far less then yours, it would be nice to know that at least the Ferrari community has got your back. Owning my first Ferrari (348TS) is starting to remind me of when I bought my first Porsche, a 1970 914. I remember being so proud of it when I came home. That quickly changed as everyone (family included) made snide remarks such as "nice VW" and so forth. It didn't take long before the pride of ownership was lost and the car went up for sale.
Well, I dont understand the hostility of any 355 owners toward the 348... The 355 is simply a cosmetically updated 348 with 8 more valves and power steering! How a 355 owner could HATE the 348 is beyond me... I dont know of any 348 owners that hate the 355! they're 80% the same damn car!! This thread is nothing more than an invitation for harsh comments that can, and will cause pointless hard feelings and resentment toward others. I love my 348 AND the 355... and I have the same respect for owners of either car. Both cars have a laundry list of notorious issues and design flaws... some the same, some unique. Both cars have strong and weak points in terms of what a ''true sports car'' should be. I dont think there's really anything better or worse about either car on the whole.... one is just a bit newer, and as a result, costs more money. I'm VERY proud and honored to be a member of the ''Brotherhood'', but my hat says 348/355 on the side of it... enough said!
Actually, I'll abstain... I completely understand the purpose of the Brotherhood, but at the same time, i'm not big on exclusion policies. I just really wish I never chimed in on this topic. I think everyone in this forum is great, and they have all enhanced my life and my Ferrari ownership experience! I just hope the 355 guys dont look down on ME because I drive a 348!
My brother and I already formed our own 348/355 Brotherhood -- PBBMTRY and JBBMTRY. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yeah, all of those cars are ludicrous to maintain. Now, a 308/328 on the other hand... lots of love, and maintenance bills like a new Lexus. Take a deep breath. I have a hunch the whole thread was intended as election-year fun.
