Well, it has been just over 2 years since I sold my utterly gorgeous F348 Spider ... and yesterday I am glad to say I returned to the fold This time I wanted as pure as I could get hence I had a very precise criteria: - It had to be a 348 as I personally think they are a great car with a raw edge about them which I love. - It had to be the Berlinetta to make the most of the pure lines of the coupe. - It had to be Rosso Corsa. - It had to have black leather. - It also had to be left hand drive as the seating position is just so much better. So here it is! The fact that it is absolutely immaculate and has been kept in stunning condition by it's current owner Andy Chadwick from the ClubScuderia forum is one thing ... and to then find out belonged to a mate from Pistonheads (I clocked his Reg mark on one of the old plate transfers) just shows what a small world the P.Heads/Ferrari community is It has Tubi and de-cat and also has the benefit of a rather splendid BMC induction system. The only change that I would like to make at some point is to find some Competizione look-a-like wheels, although the 360s are growing on me. Hope to collect it on Sat 19th once my insurance clicks over to another year NCB Image Unavailable, Please Login
Cheers guys On Jason's note ... does anyone know if the Spider/GTB spec had a different cam to the TBs. Although this is Tubi'd & de-catted as was my last Spider, the Spider sounded louder and had a harder, more clipped edge to it. Wondered if they were different cams or something?
Lovely car! I would to see a picture of the BMC intake. Did it install in w/o any modifications? Did you have to fabricate a support for it?
Those 360 wheels are starting to look good on the 348! It goes well with the whole angular look. Does the back stick out much? Are they as light as the 355 wheels?
The 360 wheels look good. Does anyone know if they 1. Fit well without any rubbing 2. Change the handling of the car 3. Change the speedometer accuracy?
ABout bloody time!!!!! Have you considered getting classic car insurance? Limits around 5K miles per year, includes track days and costs around £500 with AON.
The 360 wheels are like putting a 30mm spacer on originals. In my aesthetic opinion they do sit fractionally too far out at the back and it is very marginal as to whether they are legal. But Andy and Michael think they look ok so I guess it is subjective. Yes. They will improve road holding slightly over originals as this is the reason a lot of people put 25mm spacers on. I cannot remember the tyre size but Andy has it set up so that the speedo remains accurate - 275/40/18 i think from memory.
That's quite expensive Sy. I have been quoted that for unlimited mileage with both me & Vicki driving. 5000 miles a year? You havin a laff mate, I'd do that in 4 months even as a Sunday car!
Here you go Sam. the last owner did it himself and still has all the origianl bits. I am led to believe it is an easy job but no idea other than that I'm afraid. Image Unavailable, Please Login
That 348 came with us on the Leeds run in Nov - must say it looked in v good nic, and Andy the (then) owner seemed liked a really pleasant guy
That's it that's exactly what I'm looking for where do you get those? They look amazing it gives the engine that to hot to handle look WOW!!!!
CONGRATS FOR YOUR NEW 348 BMC are just plug and play, i had also those in my 348 tb http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=132750&stc=1&d=1109154637
