Notice in the description of the vehicle on ebay, it says how it has had an EXTENSIVE service history! What was so extensive about it to warrant over $20K worth of servicing? The car only has 17,000 miles on it. I wonder if there are some underlying issues with the car. Maybe there aren't, I don't know but it seems that the dealer has made it clear that it has had extensive service which makes me a little weary. I mean detailing the service history would have been better, but $20K seems like alot for a car with 17,000 miles on it.

My 95 was OK priced for condition, now I have a FRESH motor, Speedlines, ALL new interior components in center console, and many other things. Hate to say it but 90k would just get you started to duplicate....No offense, but I've seen many of these cars. There really are VERY FEW nice ones left. When you find one (in great shape) be prepared to pay $$$$$$$. Simple as that..... There is no budget with a Ferrari, there is no justification, if you have to really watch every nickel and worry with stress levels out of this world about the results of a PPI than you probably shouldn't buy one......

Reality is that there are no NEW 355's coming off the line, that's the beauty of a Ferrari, if you always wanted a particular model and you want it to be nice you WILL pay...And that is what determines value on anything....Supply and demand...

I received an e-mail from my insurance company and it was sold at Auction on 12/20. Not sure to who and how much. I am sure it will pop up online somewhere in the near term. The number was 110542.

FYI, I checked CarFax and they mention the Salvage. However, they state teh odometer reading might have been faulty. The odometer was right up until the fire melted it.

    I just paid 60 k for my 95 355
    Only has 17xxx miles

I have put a few dollars into it:
    X-OST
    Test pipes
    Challenge grill
    Wheel Spacers
Major + Valves and guides (split 50/50 w/seller)

So I have about 70k in it give or take a few dollars for a perfect 95 355.

Having said that I would hope to be able to get at least 70k - 75k for it if I ever decide to sell it.
If not............it is what it is!

Brilliant post - should be required reading for all the bargain hunters over in the 308/328 world who keep finding $25K 308s and wonder why anyone would pay more.

I was at Ferrari of New England today and there was a 1997 355 GTS with about 10K on the clock. Were asking $89K. Maybe prices on these are on the rise :) (good for me as a gts owner)

Supply and Demand. I see the price of GTB and GTS are rising slowly since there is not many supply out there. Spyders occupied 80-90% of the inventory right now, there are just not many sorted coupes for sales at the moment.
