The F355 would be this one. I've seen the car a few times. Did you happen to note whether the 456 had North Carolina plates?
trust me, I tried. I had to change my address too - and to do that over the internet your license (old) address had to NCOA (post office national change of address) to your new address. my license was 2 addresses ago, so I could not get there from here... also tried to get a copy of my MVR report online - got all the way through the process and it said it would snail mail me a temporary password in 15 days. kind of dilutes the immediate gratification of the internet!
Hi Doug,I hope the Holidays were good to you! The 355 spider is the one in your photo. The 456 I observed had the light leather interior but the center caps were silver (including the horse) not the typical yellow on black horse. I did not view the tags.
Hey! My holidays were wonderful (except for the part about all the snow keeping the exotics inside!). I hope yours were too and I hope the New Year treats you wonderfully! I believe this is the 456 you saw based on your description. Good eyes on the center caps - I had missed that detail myself! North Carolina plates indeed on that vehicle - that photo is from the only time I saw it, back in March.
I saw this same silver Diablo today on 285 at 8 AM near Roswell road. It was one of the old ones. Pretty cool to see on 285.
today two maserati's at season's 52, aston martin vantage passing us near blockbuster in buckhead, aston martin db9 at intercontinental. is this that diablo? Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have spotted a couple of cars over the past couple of days. I saw a Lamborghini Gallardo at the forum in Norcross and I also saw a black Porsche Turbo in the same parking lot last Sunday. I spotted a Lamborghini Diablo in the parking garage at my college a couple of hours ago. I have pictures of both the Diablo and the Gallardo but they are not very good quality since I took them with my cell phone. After looking at the picture of the Diablo I'm questioning its authenticity but I'm sure there is someone on the message board that will know if it is a body kit or not. BTW, how do you tell if a car is just a body kit or if it is the real thing? I saw that Diablo fly by me heading North on Peachtree Ind. going like 100 or so... to quick for a pic
Haha, I was there to get my license renewed and wondered if somebody was headed to take their test in it. Beautiful car! I stopped at Motorcars on my way back South and drooled over their collection for a while.
I believe that's the Garage connected to the GT Hotel/Conference center. Saw a sick F430, and a bunch of Bentleys last time I was there.
Nice call Doug,The exhaust system on the Diablo VT (1999) has 4 tips two on each side. This copy holds 2 mounted in the center like the Diablo 6.0 (2001)
Why someone would want to spend the time and money creating a kit-car like that is beyond me. In the time it took to build that you could have come up with a big idea and a business plan that would make you enough money to buy a real Diablo roadster. With the money it took (in the area of $20 - $30,000 most likely) you could buy a nice sporty car to get you around - Maybe an 04' VW R32 or an E36 M3. All I'm saying is that it seems like a waste. At the very least trim down the front suspension! lol
I've seen after market exhaust systems for diablos that were in the center and the lines don't look too bad (from my recollection having owned one) but look at how skinny the rear tires are on it! the wing is also wrong and the gas cap door is missing from the right side. survey says..... fake.
Thats funny. " There wouldn't be a ditch in the land that not full of premier footballers crashed and on fire" Thats good stuff.
For those of you interested, I've seen a real Diablo VT Roadster on the roads in Denver a few times over the last year and a half. Here are some photos for comparison: http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j76/81401/cars/lamborghini/diablo_vt_roadster-112506.jpg (side) http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j76/81401/cars/lamborghini/diablo-112506-2.jpg (front side) http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j76/81401/cars/lamborghini/diablo-060907-2.jpg (rear) http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j76/81401/cars/lamborghini/diablo-060907-7.jpg (front) These kits usually do a good job replicating the body panels, but when put together they never look like the cohesive package, with rare (and costly) exceptions. I have to admit the kit shown isn't horribly off in proportion, but it just doesn't come close to 'the look' of the real deal.
Thanks for posting the pictures of the real Diablo VT Roadster! After looking through the pictures I can see the difference between the kit-car and the real one.
Thanks, Peter! For another large volume of on-the-road exotic photos, check out my posts in the Denver Spotters' Thread. I'll be back in Atlanta (and out of this snow and cold!) in three days... in 2007, I had 497 exotic car sightings (of 310 unique vehicles) and I'd like to be around 700 this year, so I'll be hitting the ground running when I come back.
I usually never see exotics, etc, but today I saw three. All in Conyers. First was a white Bentley Flying Spur on 138, then a red Noble M12 at Raceway on Salem rd, but I didn't get pictures. Lastly, I did get pics of this red Aston Martin Lagonda at a repair shop. Saw it from the road and said "it couldn't possibly be!!" but it was! Probably the one of the weirdest looking cars I've seen, but in a sort of cool way. Sorry for the awesome cell phone pic. Image Unavailable, Please Login
