After 12 years of ownership my trusty 328 that I thought I would never sell is going away and becoming a 355. If anyone wants to check out the new ride here is the link http://www.sportauto.cc/inventory_ferrari/1999_F355_Spider_Black/index.htm. Steve was a great guy to deal with if any of you are ever in the market and he is getting my extraordinarily clean 328. Now I get to have fun since the 355 is definitely a fast car while my wife's E320 Mercedes Wagon was beginning to really challenge the 328. If anyone has any comments or knows anything about this car that I am buying all information is appreciated. It does look like two careful owners have owned the car since it has only been serviced at Ferrari. It had a major 2 years ago, the compression and leak down was near perfect, and nothing was sticky nor had there been any attempts to remedy any stickiness in this car. About the only cosmetic redo on the car was the edge of the driver's bolster which is hardly avoidable in the 9000 miles the car has traveled.

Congratulations on a beautiful car. The pics are stunning. One comment you made has me worried a bit. The drivers bolster should still look like new at 9,000 miles. Only way it would look bad so early is if one of the previous owners was a large butt guy lol otherwise I would question the milage. Either way it is a beautiful car.

I never saw the guy's butt, but I feel confident on the mileage since there are a multitude of receipts to coordinate the mileage with. And the dyed area is only the very edge of the bolster probably where Mr. Big Butt's levi's went down the bolster -- the seat bottom is perfect and was not touched. Also, the tires are all original 1999 coded tires with probably 1000 miles left in them which would be pretty consistent with the mileage. One interesting thing is that the engine has been out 2X on this car, once for the major at 6900 miles and a second time, at 8000 miles for front main crank seal. On the second engine out they also did the waterpump. Hopefully I will not have to get intimate with the engine for a couple of years.

Congrats!!! Make sure you add your info to the registry!!! www.ferrari355registry.com

Maybe think about replacing those tires. 9 year old tires, no matter what shape they look like may leave you stranded....

Well now I know that I don't have the only one. Is yours a 6spd or an F1?

You'd have more twins if it was red/tan. :)

BTW - just thinking about the weather warming back up for the weekend so I can take the car out makes me stoked for you. Congrats again.

Ditto on the tires. After 5 years the rubber is not as pliable anymore after those heat cycles and age...mileage is irrelevant.
I have been putting Toyo's on my M3 and F355 for the last two turns and love them...especially at around $200 a pop!

For all of you interested, the 328 is going to Sport Auto in NC. It is a good car but make no mistake -- it has been a driver. The good news is that it has 40,000 miles and never had any paint work. The paint on the front bumper is pretty weak and I had the seats dyed which looked great for a year and now -- not so great. The seats have the texture now of vinyl. The AC works for a few weeks after it is charged and then it needs a recharge. Also, the led switches on the console are quirky -- sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. Other than that, it is the typical red/tan 328 and one that I have enjoyed.

Nice car. Although I think you should change those tires - mine is a '95 and had the original tires when I bought it in August so I put on Michelin Sports . You cannot see tire rot unless you inflate them up to 60psi and look between the treads.

Careful- as you can see from the pic above, if you overinflate the tires too much you will blow off the engine cover :)

Someone put a viagra in that red 355's gas tank i think.

Beautiful cars guys. When the time comes i'm gonna have a tough time deciding between a 355 or a 360.

This is what the compression and leak down test looked like. I would be curious what other results people have seen on theirs. Eric
