I'm guessing around $110K because of the superlow mileage. That doesn't necessarily mean that it was well taken care of. If it just sat most of the time--not driven at all for months or even years-- and didn't get routine service based on time rather than mileage, there could be problems. Service records are critical here, so looking at them before bidding is essential (the catalog listing says they have all the records). Personally I'd prefer a car with ten times as many miles, scrupulously serviced and driven regularly by someone with maturity who knew and respected f-cars.

Someone will do real well because BJ is no longer a Ferrari place.

Come to think of it, in light of the meltdown in the stock market over the last month and the dimmer prospects for the economy, I'd agree with you.

    Is that auction description correct?

While the GTA was a popular option to say 6 speeds are "rare" or the minority, I wonder.....

So that later model low miles is my car!

But I'll be darned if I'd buy any Ferrari at an auction, I prefer to shake hands with the previous owner. Says a lot about the care, IMO...

688 456MGTs vs 650 456MGTAs, at least according to whoever wrote the Wikipedia article. The US import ratio was, I believe skewed about 70% auto/30% 6-speed.

I doubt it will break the century mark - although if two bidders confuse the horse for a 'stang the price might be higher ;) The early bidding has been quite weak, commentators keep talking about good buys and some of musle car "replicas" are being hammered at embarrasingly low prices - BJ created bubble and now we get to watch it burst live, grab the pop corn... it's gonna be entertaining!

    Wow! $135,000 + 10% buyer's fee + AZ taxes + transport fees for a 456!

    I completely missed this call.

Me, too. If I'd stuck to my guns, I'd have been the closest to hit the mark; absolutely incredible how people can overpay.

They get caught up being on TV, thats all. Alot of the cars sold there
would probably go for less if they were'nt on TV.

That, I think most will agree is full retail. And then some.

    Happy to see it though.

After all they were the greatest GTs on the planet at one time.

I'm sure this is the car I looked at when it was available in LA at a small used car dealership. A mint example but at the time which was late summer of 2007 they wanted $120K. The story was it was sold new by Beverly Hills and the owner had to sell it due to divorce. My understanding was that the owner wanted to purchase the car after the divorce was finalized - Maybe he was the one who bought it?

At least w/ the 6spd they won't have to worry about a $30k transmission replacement in the near future... Any thoughts from this group on the topic of the weak 456 auto trans?

Oh, I'm new here. Actually looking towards a 400/412 and someday (maybe 2 years or so) a 456. Before anyone asks, yes, I would rather have a 355 or 360, but need room for the wheelchair and prefer a REAL auto trans vs. the early F1's being run in auto mode.

Yum - eating crow - still I think it is too much money but with the way stocks are going might be a better (or just as bad) investment!

The 456 auto trans does not have a reputation of being weak; the issue is lack of factory support for rebuilding when it becomes necessary. Search the topic; there's lots of info. As long as the transmission is properly maintained, it has a very long life.

Just a correction the Daytona coupe that went for 35K was a Factory Five. The Superformance Daytona coupe went for 105K
