Interesting Hans, you're not alone. Here is a nifty statistic.
With the info I have on US cars it seems that almost, not quite but close to, 5% of all US 400/400i owners also have a Dino GT4.

Nice! Is that Sepia? If not how did you do it?

You notice how the grille on yours look "period correct" and mine looks a bit more modern?
You already know I like yours better.

I just made the photo sepia in iPhoto - none of yer fancy Photoshop!

Your grille looks normal for a series 2, but the lights look a little bigger?

    Cheers

    Pretty easy in photoshop!

    Image|mode|Greyscale
    Imgae|mode|RGB color
    Image|Adjustments|Color balance

Now yank the top sliding bar in the direction of Red and the bottom one in the direction of yellow, and voila, your sepia photo :D

    Hans

P.S. Sounds like the perfect combination to me: A 400 for long distance cruising and a GT4 for the fun rides :). It won't be too long for me, I'm sure...

Oh don't be too impressed. Its a bootleg copy of the program a friend gave me. :D

It is normal, I just like the S1 grille better. Lights? They're original.

I was just busting your chops - I've got a fully licensed version of Photoshop (but have only used it for some basic stuff like making transparent gifs so far)! With iPhoto (Mac program) it is so easy and quick to do simple effects like sepia.

I prefer the full-width grille on the series 1 (and the carbed Boxer, for that matter), too - it looks cleaner.

I would love to be added to the list of 400+GT4 owners - the GT4 was the first Ferrari I ever sat in, in Italy in the early 80s. It was blue with tan cloth.

    Like this??

(Okay, leather, not cloth, but the colors should be the same I guess - in combination with the blue exterior in post #2 of this thread)

Speaking of interiors: While "inspecting" a series I 400 last week, it struck me how much better the build quality of the 400 is than that of my GT4. The center console on the GT4 is so clearly just a fibreglass pod that is screwed (not even bolted) to the floor. No carpets to speak of, clearly showing its small-factory pedigry. The 400 is put together sooooooo much better.

Love it, Hans. Beautiful leather, the tan goes so well with blue paint.

I hope you do get yourself a nice 400, they are wonderful machines.

You notice the sound of the door closing on the 400? Solid.

Indeed, I noticed. Like closing a vault!

Remember what Will Smith shouted when he first launched himself in that alien space ship in the movie independence day?

"I've GOT to get me one of these!!!!"

    yeah... me too :)

Add me to that 5% list. I have and enjoy a 365GT4 2+2 and a 308GT4 2+2, as well as a F355B. All great fun cars!!

Thank heavens, finally some 400 pics in the 400 thread, rather than all those GT4 crap! ;)

    Nice pic, nice car!!!!!

Every pic that I see, the drooling starts getting worse. I guess I just have to do it and buy one...

Don't be confused. I bought it from some viniculturist in Texas and the photos were taken on the way home.
