I think this person you are talking about is in the process of of rebuilding my car. I don't think there is anyone else better experienced and with the passion than the said person to do so. I am very happy as am I sure 360, Fox etc is. As you say grow up and move on.
Scud I'm new to F-chat and have already had 3 links to the old 355 issue. I'm not here to pick sides, I have always judged people myself not on what other people say. All I can say is I'm happy with the service to date and to me thats all that counts. Your right I am sure PP will have something to say. Just for a change.
one day i'll have great pleasure in reminding you that you said that. just a few questions 1. how many ferraris have you had? 2. what length of time have you had ferrari ownership? 3. How many other ferrari mechanics have you used in the past? 4. if you've used other ferrari mechanics in the past, why did you stop using them?
Thanks Greg, I'm not as hopeless as some may think. Actually, thats BS. Miles Sandy is doing the gearbox for me, they're his shots.
hands on: try has no idea intake/ exhaust: i trust a manual from the manufacturer, i have seen the quality of its work.........very secondhand
HAHAHAHA forget about that comment I made in the pap/drive thread Is Miles the Marc Jones of Sydney ?
Roger re vacumaid - DON'T! The hard plastic hoses on these will crucify your car where they come across scuttles etc.
I don't know Marc Jones. Miles runs a respected long-time Ferrari repair shop in Sydney. He's expensive, knowledgeable and reliable. A younger version of JA in Melbourne. He looks after the best 275's and Daytonas in NSW and is the only guy I trust with a Daytona. Most of the others here spend all their time with V8's and have no real V12 experience. I'm just too busy at the moment to do the job myself, as much as I would have enjoyed it.
already in , though the guy is pretty careful , and can use his own gear if he wants to . only get one chance to put vacumaid in , so i did.
FF says......... WARNING!! DO NOT TAKE THE 308 VALVE CLEARANCE INFO POSTED EARLIER AS ACCURATE. Ian, you are wrong... 0.10mm is 0.004" thou.. and 0.12mm is 0.006" (thousandths of an inch)... setting your tappets to this will damage your engine. The correct clearances are 0.20-25mm or 0.008-10" thou for inlet, and 0.30-35mm or 0.012-0.014" for exhaust. Set cold.
