Is there that much of a difference from the 360 to a 430? I know there is a difference in looks and performance BUT do you really find the difference's worth the extra cash? If you had to do it all over ... would you do the move up again.?

I did go from 360 to 430. If you're paying msrp for the 430 then it's well worth it, big time.

    I went from titanium/black 2001 360 Modena 6-speed manual berlinetta to black/tan 2006 F430 F1 berlinetta.
My 360 was a great car, but buying the 430 was worth it.
The 430 has several pluses. For example, the timing chain vs. the timing belts in the 360.
Exhaust and intake sounds are much richer in the 430. And the F1 technology is faster (although my 360 was manual shift).

I was able to buy my 430 new at MSRP so the dollar difference judgement was skewed in the 430's favor by also going from a used car with 13.5k miles on it to a new one. If I had a chance to reverse the transaction now (15 months later), I wouldn't change anything, I'd keep the 430.

Here are pictures of my 360 and 430, parked in almost the same spot in my driveway. You'll notice that I kept the same license plate.

I went from an F1 360 to a manual 430. Great new car. The 360 was a great car, but the 430 is much, much better. Better sound, better ride, much faster, a huge improvement. Think 348 to 355, and you've got the difference. There wasn't a huge difference between the 355 and the 360, but the 430 is a much improved car. And you save money on the maintenance. I'm not sure if I'm going to upgrade when the replacement comes out, will have to see.

I know the 430 is a better car in many ways... to me it looks tall.. taller then a 360... my question is I dont want to spend as much as a 430 spider sells for, so I was thinking of a 360 spider F1... I have been told go with a 430 much better car... I agree.. but I dont track the car, and as much as it is nice knowing you have a fast or faster car then other people... I think a 360 is fast enough.. I am more about the styling & looks... taking the car to the gym or out to dinner.. NOT for street racing... so that being said I guess my question goes to a 360 owner over a 430 owner... Anyone with a 360 F1 driven a 430 F1 ? Do you find the 360 to be fast enough for the street cruising? AGAIN I know the 430 is better faster etc.. AND I love the 430 interior.. but again want to save some money here being its just a weekend cruiser.. my thoughts are save some $ with the 360 and then have left over $ for wheels and to have it lowered... someone reassure me with my thoughts or convince me to change my thoughts from a 360 to a 430 for good..... thanks again

its so MUCH more than just a little faster on street and nicer interior. The difference is HUGE, seriously. 2 different animals COMPLETELY. You don't need to be a track guy to feel this difference. BEST bet is to drive both. I welcome you to drive my F430 any time. I'm just down the street from you. Drive em both and your decision will be WAY easier than asking opinions.

A 360 is very fast and it will bite the hell out of you. Are you going to cruise at 180 mph?

For your driving intentions a 360 is far too much car, just by a BMW convertible automatic and get this over with.

Joking aside, you wont be let down with the 360. You'll be wasting money if you go for the F430, really.

    I had a 360 and now a F430, so I know where I'm coming from.

Go by the 360 and post some pictures and please hurry up.

If money is not an issue, don't even give it a second thought. The 430 does everything so much better than the 360. It is just plain way more satisfying to drive. The F1 transmission on the 360 is just annoying compared to the 430. Suspension, interior, and comfort and handling are next generation evolved and it is no wonder the car wins just about every magazine car comparison. The 360 is a good car but it has some shortcomings that detract from enjoyment. The rear dif is poorly engineered and causes the inside tire to light up upon acceleration out of a very tight corner. The traction control is way too intrusive and the car is too twitchy at high speed. I think they are both gorgeous and I am not sure which is prettier. I have had both and consider myself very lucky which you should too if you are in the position to buy either of these cars.

He wants the car to cruise and pose around and in this case buying the F430 is just an extra luxury as he doesn't need the extra performance. As a matter of fact he could benefit a lot more with a Gallardo, more performance than the 360 and more exotic looking than a F430. And now I have to run for cover.

It feels like a different car. More powerful, better handling, smoother shifting, better air conditioner, yes, better AC.

Traitor. I drove a Gallardo last month. If you are over 6ft. or over 200lbs. do not get in a Murci or Gallardo. I actually drove a Gallardo after I could not even fit in the Merci for a test drive. The Gallardo is fast but it feels like a toy. Just so small...

And I guess you aren't considering an E-gear. Now the picture becomes clearer and I don't even understand how the 360 got into the equation. Don't go 360F1 after a Gallardo stick shift, I went that route and wasn't 100% a happy camper with the 360 as I was with the more powerful Gallardo. I truly liked the 360 a lot, but I was spoiled by the Gallardos torque. The only option you have now is the F430, period. Now get one tomorrow if possible and post some pics, you'll soon understand why I say buy it as of right now. Happy buying!

I had a 360, went to a new 430 in sept. If you can afford it, go for it. The F1 works great and I have hated these transmissions prior to the F430. I kept my M5 with SMG a month. Very few people can drive any Ferrari to it's potential even on the track. I should be driving a 6 year old Camry, anything after that is about what you want.

If engine sound is an issue, the 360 V8 has the classic, screaming, high-pitched Ferrari sound while the sound of the F430 engine is kind of like a mix between a fart and a Folger's Coffee can Honda.

(Now I am going to run for cover!) :D
