I read the "Shelby Super Car Ultimate Aero" thead/posts from a year ago, but dang if this this doesn't sound like it's for real.

And before anybody says "why post it here??" -- It's because ... didn't Lamborghini try to do that with the Murcielago after it came out? Run some tests and call it the world's fastest car? (I recall -- could be wrong tho...)

Well, anyway, the article is a good read, and at 250-270mph this baby's going to be hard to beat!

    Cheers,

    Fred

Not really. Bugatti's only limited by its tires, and it's just 5 mph behind the SSC's 257Mph (Run 1). So, if Bugatti ever takes off the limiter, I'm sure it could hit 260Mph.

Its funny cause Shelby Supercars used to manufacture Lamborghini replicars before they moved on to the SSC Aero. Still very nice even the chassis is part Diablo replica:D.

I heard that the Veyrons topspeed was unoffical not sure if thats true or not but they mentioned that in the current Luxry exotics in the SSC article. SSC claims they took the record away from the CCX and not the Veyron. Donno if thats true or not.

I don't see how they could take anything from the CCX considering it never ran a top speed like the CCR did. The Veyron's top speed though, is 253Mph (multiple sources to show), and many reviewers state that once it hits 253Mph, it wants to keep going.

For the CCX, no. For the Veyron, no one knows. It's limited due to tire safety.
