Looks like I was right. ;) .... It is Alfredo de la Maria. It's part of his painting 'Triumph and Tragedy'.

See this German website: http://www.luftfahrtkunst.de/Inhaltsverzeichnis/Alfredo_De_la_Maria_Autos/Alfredo_De_la_Maria_Cars_3/body_alfredo_de_la_maria_cars_3.html (top R.H. corner).

The URL works, but the unfortunately the thumbnails don't ! :(

Funny, if you google 'Alfredo de la Maria and Triumph and Tragedy, it brings up this link on Morry's website:

    http://www.cstudio.net/artsportscars.htm

However, if you scroll down the page, it's another (totally different) painting entitled 'Triumph & Tragedy' by 'Helga'. :(

It's not a case of 'are', but maybe 'were'.

If you click on that German webpage link I gave in post #3, it says: 'limitierte Auflage 500 auf Papier 750 auf Leinwand'

.... which translates as: 'limited edition 500 on paper 750 on canvas' .... so they were at one time.

Sorry kids that lovely print was published some time ago by the BlackHawk Collection on canvas in an edition of 100 for US$1250 back in the late 90s and has been sold out for some time. I do have most of his currently available work which you can see on 6 pages at http://www.collectorstudio.com/limited.htm

If I ever publish my original P4 painting...the price would be at least $950 for a nice large canvas giclee, so if anyone 'needs' to have one, email me in encouragement to get this project started.
