How do you get a post production car?

I was wondering if anyone knows the inside working of the Post Production Ferrari world. Its been widely noted that there are cars that are produced for certain individuals that are post production cars, and usually don’t area in the registries or serial numbered orders for the rest of those cars.

I understand the first qualification for something like this is more wealth then I can imagine. I was just curious if anyone knew how it worked. Do you just call up Italy and say I really want ------- price is not problem?
