My F40 was recently photographed by BLAIR BUNTING, an amazing car photographer, for use in promotional material for a major insurer. The pics can found at this site: http://www.blairbunting.com/F40/
Those first two would be amazing except for all the wires running in the foreground??? Other than that, neat pictures of a great automobile!!
Dear Comrade 410SA, Yes, the photograph's are fine. But, and whilst I purport no photographic expertise whatsoever, I really do not think they are any better, if at all, than those that I have taken casually whilst out enjoying motoring sojourns throughout the highways and byways of England. I have just re-examined my photograph's and yes, I can confirm that they are indeed actually superior to yours. For example, some of your images are out of focus and whilst a mere one or two of my images may not actually be completely in-focus, I do assure you that none of them are actually out of focus. I have upon a previous occasion sent them to my dearest of all comrades, Joe Sackey. However this was some months ago but he may have sold them-on to a publishing company by this time. I do regret to inform you that I am unable to post the images myself as I am not sufficiently profficient in the management of this box-of-tricks to do so. However, if there is some bright thaumaturge willing to vicariously perform this technical function, then I shall of course be only too delighted to transmit the images to him/her, for relaying through cyber space and thencefrom to be exhibited within the annals of this grimoire of supercar oligarchy, thus that I may make an exiguous contribution to this sagacious chronicle of international felicity All good wishes from England With kind regards, 512 Tea Are
What on earth are you going on about!? Graham you must take better care of yourself. The several personalities inside your head are tearing your brain apart. Is the National Health so overburdened that they cannot deliver your anti hallucinogens on time? What does Felicity have to do with this? I had heard she refuses to do any more "work" for you because of your small tip.
Dearest Comrade 410SA, It would seem that perchance you may be in denial with regard to the photograph's that you posted upon this forum and purported to have been captured by a professional photographer. And indeed what a frightfully circuitous route you have negotiated in directing yourself away from the true facts of the matter. And yes, there may well be the slightest degree of exiguous usage of sesquipedalian phraseolgy within my post. However, I had categorised you as a member of the intelligentsia as is indeed Joe Sackey, RufMD and the inveterate goderator moderator commissar Dave himself. And within this belief was encompassed the thought that monosyllabacism would have appeared as distictly patronising. All this notwithstandding, I was merely performing my best endeavours to gently indicate that some of the images were out of focus. I further stated that some of my images whilst not in focus were never out of focus Joe Sackey's images are always so terribly well defined with nary a hint of anything less than absolute perfection. If you wish, I could become an intermediary and manage the hitherto yet unexploited aspects of Mr. Sackey's artisticly elegant expertise in the field of photography. If you should wish to avail yourself if this opportunity then of course I should be only too delighted to make all necessary arrangements. Naturally there will be a small fee. But expertise of the calibre of Mr Sackey's cannot ever come cheaply. I have refrained from pleneticism as you are now a potential customer and all successful entrepreneurs believe that 'the customer is right even when they're wrong.' All good wishes from England. I think I understand. It took me a few trys and I had to read it twice. Once aloud with an English accent and then again with a Russian accent...but I think he's trying to say that the pictures aren't that good as they are out of focus. I think he is suggesting someone else might have some picutres as an example....but I'm not sure about that. Perhaps I need to reread this again with a mixed English/Russian accent.
Dear Comrade Challenge64, Yes, it is true that I have Russian antecedent's - however not of the ochlocracical proletarian acharnemental Bolshevik order of which your reference to 'comrade' would appear to allude. I merely utilise this word in its contextual aspect of 'a companion who shares one's activity.' However, I am wondering as to why a professional photographer should create images, some of which would appear to be out-of-focus. I have this very afternoon performed further analysis and it became apparent that there are aspects of the car that are seemingly out of kilter with that which would afford Classiche Certification status. For example, the wheels appear to be different than those on my car. I fully accept that my wheels could be of the wrong type. But I should be most grateful for further clarification on this matter from someone with total omniscience and expertise. With kind regards, 512 Tea Are
Graham, I am always delighted to see images of F40s anywhere anytime, 410 SA's car included. However, as soon as I saw the images taken by Blair Bunting, I became concerned that a mistake had occurred and the images supplied were in fact the outtakes rather than the chosen files themselves. I think I have an idea of the abstract art that Mr. Bunting was trying to accomplish and I have posted below a similar angle of the same shot for comparison. His image is at top, and mine below. My own image was taken by my pocket Kodak disposable and I must confess I profess no knowlege or talent as far as photography is concerned. Pure dumb luck best describes it. My technique is to simply point, close my eyes, shoot, and hope for the best. The comments I generally receive for my images are almost certainly too kind by half and Im sure my images do not warrant such merit. Then it dawned on me: Blair Bunting copied me!! The fucquer has taken my idea and stolen it! The wanker! He has plaguerized my strictly copyrighted work. How dare he! I have now passed this matter on to my attorney for review and I can no longer speak about it. At least my image is in-focus I too have observed the handsome aftermarket wheels with which this car is shod and I must say that they have a high "bling" factor, do they not? Quite impressive. It makes the F40 become a rather cool conveyance. However, they do in fact beg some questions that 410 SA can clarify for us: - Are they USA DOT street legal? - Have they been USA DOT safety-tested at all speeds up to and including 202 MPH? - How do they affect the optimum ride & handling of the car on both road & track? - Are these wheels available for other types of cars? - What is the cost of a set of such items (as compared to the cost of say, a major service)? I know 410 SA is quite knowlegable of his cars and will afford us the answers to the questions that inquiring minds wish to know. Meanwhile can you all please stop PM'ing me on the issue till clarification is forthcoming by the aforementioned... Dear Ciomrade Joe Sackey, Yes, and by direct comparison with your luculent images it would most certainly appear that the images of 410 SA's car are indeed severely out of focus. And Joe, for the sake of clarity and completeness, and far be it for me to again mention the matter for fear of scorn, derision, ridicule and abject mockery again being heaped upon me - as it was when I previous mentioned the Duty Of Disclosure' on the aspect of insurance. You were frightfully remiss in not also mentioning this factor within your post. However, will you bring this aspect of 'the wheels' to the attention of our dearest comrade 410SA, please? I feel confident that he will have mentioned this to his insurer, but it is possible that it may have slipped his mind. Best wishes from England. With kind regards, 512 Tea Are
Graham, I have to keep this post short & sweet in order to facilitate a lunch date with the luscious sweetpea Margaret. Indeed, if the dimensions of the wheel are not of an exactitude as the standard ones prescribed for this extremely high-performance motorcar, and the tensile and composite strength of the unit is not equal to the prescribed original, there are safety issues, and naturally therefore, insurance issues. I have checked this with my insurer because I am so impressed by 410 SA's wheels that I want a set too. Even my wife says I should get them. Yahoo! However, my insurer states to me that may do as I wish, but should the motorcar be involved in a collision on the road, the modification of perhaps the most significant set of components will become an issue with the adjuster and the underwriter. He tells me that aftermarket wheels are a real problem as many are not safety tested throughout the speed range and in fact suggests that some of them are in fact the cause of high-speed accidents. Bugger. I wanted a set so... Here is a standard (boring) wheel such as is fitted upon an F40 taken by my 'throwaway' crank-and-shoot camera. I think I will go for the Salad Nicoise at this place...
