I am starting a major service, ultimately with new x-ost system going back in.

    Question:
When pulling the exhaust system before the engine drops out, do folks pull the pre-cats, then cats and then silencer?
    -or-
Pull the silencer out the top first, and then drop the cats, then pre-cats?

It looks pretty tight to pull the silencer out the top... I'd hate to get it half way out just to realize it won't squeeze thru!

Thanks in advance for your time & tip!

    Never mind... I got it.

Answer: 'C - None of the above'
Sequence: Cats, precats then silencer out the bottom

Would never have busted the bolts without lots of help from Kroil - great stuff! BTW it is on sale (cheap!) at their website.
Try it - you'll never go back to the WD-40 based junk.

    Side Note:
One pre-cat had disintegrated & left chunks of honeycomb rattling around just upstream of the main cat. The disintegrating chunks powdered as they rattled around & pushed residual powder into the main cat's honeycomb. The result was a partially, but significantly plugged cat.

The pre-cats have a honeycomb suspended in the steel body within a cushion of stainless steel wool. The honeycomb was gone & the wool was on its way out - soon to travel down the pipe and totally plug the exhaust.

Moral of the story - use the backpressure ports & routinely check it out.
    -or Better yet -
Get a set of these from Daniel at Ricambi! Thanks again Dan!
