Pretty cool! Looks like a great concept. I hope it takes off and they sell a lot. When do you take delivery of yours?
Did some consulting for them on manufacturing of the body. Interesting ideas they have going on. Cool looking car, and will be interesting to see how well it works.
No idea on delivery - probably mid of next year I'd guess. They begin mfg end of this year. TopElement - do you work for a composite co?
Wow! Thats actually an amazing vehicle! Brav, once you get it I would be extremely interested to see it.
How does that thing pass crash standards? Side Impact? Roll over? Looks kinda cool though. Shiny Side Up! Bill
Just as any other car would. Supposedly it exceeds government regulations for safety. Composites are quite different than standard metal construction, design and load forces are entirely different. F1 safety pod/cockpits are built in a similar way out of composite materials. Very strong.
This is a fantastic design. I have seen a few videos detailing it. Very Very cool. Some of the safety concepts are quite impressive.

I ordered mine on December 25th. I'm having mixed feeling about the car. I keep wondering how it will drive/feel. I cant wait to test drive it and make my final decision. I really like the design though. Have you checked out the videos on youtube?
Wasnt me - my car is in for a respray from my accumulation of rock chips. I have seen a few videos. It should handle pretty well if they have put any amount of thought and engineering into it. the T-rex is similar, and is extremely stable. Since this isnt really a high performance (save for mileage) machine, I'd imagine it will handle pretty naturally with the right engineering. It will have a pretty wide track, low CG and low weight.
I was thinking more about crumple zones, not strength... Still, as some sort of commuter car, it looks cool to me! Shiny Side Up! Bill
Aptera looks cool! ENZO doors under $30K Doing more read up as days go, think'n of ordering one thou. Test drive or not, 300mpg what gets me. I average about 250+ miles a day of driving, and thats more gas money than lunch money. Wonder a 4 seater will be available? -B
