    I think that's the most beautiful Mondial interior I've ever seen -- love the black over cream, and the color of the carpet really makes it work. Good thing California has all those tough emissions laws -- keeps some nice cars over in the eastern US! :p

    By the way, what's this doing in the "cheap" thread? I thought "cheap" on a Mondial was under $20k . . . . ;)

    Yes. And if you're going to go with a black bumper car, black is a good color for it.

    That is a clue to a Euro model. Lights are switched to meet side marker light requirement.

    I offered the seller $19k for the car. He counter-offered $21k. I would have taken the seller up on the offer, but I was very concerned about the car passing Dallas emissions testing.

    This thread needs to be updated! Seems like a good source for potential buyers.

    That is an F-chatter's car. I think it's kind of a nice car and not a bad deal for a project if you like to tinker.

    Welcome to the 1980s....Excess was everything. Its not really that bad, a decent backyard hobbyist could attack those cosmetics with gusto and remove a lot of that crap....people worry too much about that. I'd focus on coachwork rust and service records....there's a reason Black Barts and Re-Originals are still in business. If the records are there, and the bodywork is quite sound, go nuts with it and make it into whatever your OEM fantasies require.

    Cosmetic stuff isn't the issue - it's an insight into what the owner was like - this car was clearly owned by a ******bag who was trying to make it into something it's not, which is pretty scary.. you can guarantee really hard driving, no maintenance (proper maintenance, not just oil changes) and a generally ratty POS all the way through. That thing scares the crap out of me.

    I was a little scared when I got mine - but after seeing this abomination.. I stole mine!! haha.. anyway, I digress.. I would agree that it could be fixed but I think a better example would be had for the same or less $.

    Scanned the thread and didn't notice if this 328 for $29,000 has been diccussed yet. I think it's been for sale awhile.
    Plusses=late model, ABS, reasonable mileage.
    Minuses= if mechanically OK probably needs $10,000 in major service and cosmetics.
    So, tempting as you'd have a nice 328 for $40,000 in good color combo.

    I might be mistaken, but I seem to recall that 328 and thought it carried a salvage title.

    Is this 328 confirmed to have a salvage title? Any idea why it was titled as such?

    Yes... Major traffic collision in Florida according to CARFAX and Florida Department of Vehicles (I double checked the actual record in hopes of a CARFAX error)

    Unfortunately, the California Title shows fine after it was titled and re-titled three times in other states. Buyer beware.
