    Does the engine have to be removed to remove the gas tank?

    Nope; many guys in the UK do their belt changes by taking the gas tank out instead of the engine.

    I found it much easier to remove tank on 348 with just a 2 post lift. The 4 wont allow enough room due to width. You may be able to do it jacking rear up, but not sure you would get high enough.
