I was by it again today by goodwill and then on boston. It is one of Riecke's cars. He had the CL in the Bull Run. Google Team Riecke and there are pics of their CL and GL(?) from it online.
I don't get the flat black paint thing. To each his own but I knew that car before it was resprayed GI Joe flat black and it look much better to me.
Oh ya ya... a buddy of mine actually drove that car. I think he's related to the guy or something. He said that he had a bit of fun with it on lee rd. He gave him a ton of vodafone gear too. Surprised I've never seen it around.
I agree. What is the deal with the flat paint on cars? When I was in high school a lot of my friends had flat primered cars but that was because they couldn't afford to get them painted. The only thing good about flat is you don't have to worry about wax or swirl marks. I'll stick with glossy.
I read in a magazine a long time ago about a guy who had a mustang with big gas tanks, flat black paint and no lights. He had a switch to cut off his brake lights when he did not want them. The story went on to say how he would be cruising down the road at night and at 150MPH and his radar detector would go off, he would never even lift, just kept it planted. The cops never saw him, of course they heard something and the radar gun went to 150. But they never knew where he went. They guy used night vision goggles. the big tanks were for extra gas for when he did get chased, he could always out run them with the extra gas, by never having stopping. Of course this was out west and back in the late seventies. Maybe, just maybe we got a guy like that on the north shore now. Is any body getting the hint now. Kelly
I think he's trying to imply that the flat black paint would be some sort of cloaking device allowing him to drive recklessly without getting the rath of LSP & other law enforcement. I think the flat black paint is much less sinister and useful - only an indication of questionable taste.
I guess you haven't seen the movie in awhile. The Japanese team with the computer car drove at night w/o lights using night vision goggles.
Well I figured out that much. I thought he was implying that something crazy was going down in Covington.
