Some of you are just too funny, people that actually know about cars knows that Honda yes it's Honda = Mass car producer, but something that real car enthusiasts will agree is that Honda can actually produce some special dedicated cars that are rare such Nsx's and S2k's ... NSX's when they came they changed the name of the game for entry level f-cars and you all should be thankful for that b/c and entry level Ferraris nowadays are amazing machines.

If you want to keep "the legendary name" just keep the 348, in red they are pretty nice old school looking ferraris, if you want a better all around car get the NSX but if i was "Chris" i'd just get a 97 NSX and keep my 348 and have the best of both worlds, the best of an era that is gone.

Honda has some serious problems this days with the new NSX (or not) and no replacement for the S2000 but keep in mind that those are not civics, please i love Ferraris but some of you sound a bit infantile about this subject ... is not like Chris is saying that he will trade his F430 or a NSX ..... that could be "questionable" ...

Is there any way to close this thread???

Because then you wouldn't be able to see the 'green' grass.......... :p .........I picked that NSX because it looks like Chris's 348 with the wheels and red paint............... I think its a late model NSX because of the headlights?.... ;)

I think this thread could have been very useful to Chris because undoubtedly he was looking for advice, commentary, etcetera from folks who have experience with BOTH an NSX and a 348. I surely don't think he was intending to revive one of the many NSX v. 348 pissing contests.

Chris, am I right or wrong?

    Or will I be ignored?

I tried to offer some thoughts and help (which seem to have been largely ignored by the way), and then I sort of have my integrity impugned -- I was told that I don't have the experience that I claim to have.

I think I tried to make a solid contribution to this thread by offering my own RECENT 348 v. NSX experience, which is likely what Chris was looking for. Now I am sorry for even trying -- and especially since my post was sort of ignored by the 348 guys. That is too bad because I am interested to know what 348 guys think about the NSX and what they think about what I said. Aren't we here to chat back and forth? I suppose my comments are less interesting nowadays since I don't post as frequently as some others. Maybe that's why no one cared to even acknowledge the comments and videos I posted in another thread.

Oh well, I am rambling on now.

Hate to admit it but he does have a point even Ferrari admitted that there early 348 needed refinement hence all the changes in 93,94 and only after the introduction of the NSX did Ferrari get into gear...lol

As for getting the NSX I assume that you are telling us the whole story about the trade and when you say almost straight across trade that does not mean $15,000 down. + the 348....:)
It's just plain economics and I'm sure you are an intelligent fellow, if you can trade and drive the NSX for summer and then sell it and make some extra money back do it, if not then don't torture yourself cause you will probably have a hard time finding a 348 like yours in good condition.

May I have the last word? (My wife always accuses me of trying to so why change, right?)

Someone severely dissed Honda in general back there. I'd like to point out that Honda have an outstanding racing pedigree (Ahem.. may I say I saw Ayrton Senna race) *bows* Yes it was quite something.

A lot of design and engineering that Honda learnt from Formula 1 went into the NSX, years before it showed up in the F355. Also, Honda gave Ferrari a sound beating for quite a few years on the track. These are facts ppl not opinions, so please show a little respect. In fact quite a few car companies have given Ferrari a 'run-for-their-money'. I think it's always good form to give these car companies a nod of recognition.

Having said that, I HAVE fallen in love with the 360. Now that is a smokin' car. And the guys on that section of the board are REALLY friendly and nice, not at all like the owners in this section.

LOL. Just kidding. But I am 360 ready so I'll toodle on over there.

    Ciao!

    Thanks Dave!
    I did read your posts.
I don't know what thread and video you are talking about.
    I must have missed them.

Don't always expect a response, but remember, it is being read by thousands of people.

Sorry if you feel you're getting the shaft

    Not entirely true.

ALL cars began to change dramatically around this time period. The '94 Taurus was a vast improvement from the '89 - just as the 348 evolved.

The S2000 is rare? Special dedicated?

I know an ******* with a highly modified S2000. He wasted $50k on the engine & it is about as fast as my 348... but nowhere near as exciting.

In what respect? I've driven faster, better handling, cheaper, etc... nobody can capture Ferrari's soul, though.

I'm one of the nicest guys you'll know... that is, if you don't burst onto the scene like Brian Spilner telling me your Honda is better than my Ferrari. Stuff like that makes it hard to be "nice".

    Let's let this thread die..

I spoke to the owner of the car yesterday and it appears his son wants the car.

If he changes his mind, I wont publically post it...;)

We don't need another pissing contest, they're getting old....fast

The NSX is based on the Formula one of Honda. 348/355 is not derived from the Formula One techinical of Ferrari it is based on the 308, only the F-40-50 and Enzo is from the Formula one engineering team.

The 348 is the last of the manual steering sporty feeling cars.

I would sell the 2007 NSX and buy Modena or sell if buy a clean 91 for 30K.
