Save the date for the first of the year Exotic Car Night. March 29th, 2008. We've moved the event to a new little place in downtown Dallas called Cafe Rembrandt. Car arrival time is between 6:00-7:00pm - for meeting, greeting and drink specials. We are currently working with the owner/manager on a buffet - we'll update you on that later. They have a full menu, and all their food is excellent. They also have a full bar, and a very good selection of imported and domestic beers.

Entertainment later in the evening will be The Velvet Kittens Burlesque Review. They perform a spectacular Burlesque show (don't worry, no nudity- or sorry, no nudity). The Kittens performed there during the downtown Mardi Gras event and the place was rocking, with people hanging over the balcony railing and screaming. You will not be disappointed!

The Kittens have also agreed to get there early for picture taking with your ride.

Cafe Rembrandt is very easy to get to from either big city, next to the Victory Park area by American Airlines Center. It has a large parking lot, a large patio overlooking the large parking lot, and other establishments within walking distance for those who like to wander.

You know the rocket scientist isn't planning this, the executive Type A in the family is. Stephanie, your username is Srippe and I just saw you logged on, but no posts in 4 years? :)

Jennie, Mia, and I tried it out a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. Elevated patio that looks out over a nice parking lot. A great menu and ambiance inside, also saw the velvet kittens perform along with comedians. No nudity, unless sheer is nudity, but regardless of technicalities the ladies will love the theatrics and the guys will love the… um, the female bonding.

Not that easy to find the first time, but I'll post some detailed directions. Right next to House of Blues/Hooters other side of Continental. Building is a huge windowless warehouse with a few restaurants and bars, park around back side. Rembrandt patio is what use to be the loading dock.

    Who's in?

Cool, the more, the better IMHO. Get the motorcycles out, exotic car clubs, and even the muscle cars guys. That lot could hold hundreds, so space isn't an issue.

So everyone involved with other clubs, get the word out as an open invite.

About the same as Carson's or a little better because you couldn't even get in the door if not 21. So at least browsing the lot and patio should be OK for under 21. I imagine not a problem inside either because especially early it is more of a restaurant than bar.

March 29th? I should be home then, and legal. :p
I'll see if I have an open schedule. :)

I'll be there. I've been to the House of Blues, but I don't remember exactly how I got there.

    Stephanie,
We will be there early, and then off to a 50th Birthday/warehouse party for my company estimator/right hand man Bubba. Thanks for planning it!

Since no one else has asked, what's the approximate cost of this night on the town?

    Cover fees? Parking fees? etc.

There are no cover fees, and no parking fees, BUT, we may have a professional photographer there so you can get pictures of your ride, or your ride and the girls, or just you and the girls. There would be a cost for your print of the picture.

Obviously, you have to buy your own booze.

One thing we wanted to do was a photo shoot for the event for an AD and poster. I would like newer cars than mine - a 430 would be nice - we will have the Velvet Kittens in the shoot and you need to be available on 3/1 for the shoot between the times of 3-5:00pm. The time is still up in the air. We could probably use about 3 cars.

    Anyone have an interest?

I've got an F430 and would be more willing to bring it for the poster, however I'm off to Hawaii from March 1st-8th. PM me if you can set up another time. Most of the DFW guys have seen my ride

Oh, and when I said no age limit, I meant, 30-40 year olds. Although the locale is family friendly during the day, there are no children's activities planned, so it would be best to leave the little nippers at home.

That would be wonderful - we love Vipers! My goal is to get a really good sampling of all types of exotics, muscles, and collectors cars. Something different for the first Exotic Car Night of 2008.

Checked this AM, some poeple are interested so we may get a handful of fully engineered cars to compare my carbed antique to. ;)
If it doesnt fire up or is not in the mood, I'll bring the NSX.

It will be good to have the NSX crowd out there.

I'll buzz the local Rennlist guys, but I don't have accounts elsewhere.

This photo shoot would be no fun with just our cars in it - how about something neat - anybody, anybody?

We have one F430. I wouldn't even mind having a Super Bird - Greggy? Of course, I guess most knuckle heads would think it was just a jacked up Camero. Unless their 5 and think it was from the movie Cars.

It would also be cool if we could get the Desmo Sedici (maybe someone could make a phone call to AMS, Ron?) :)

    Eddie, still have the F40?

    David, the Aston Martin roadster?

Greg B., one of your dozen vintage Ferraris?

    Lambo?

So, I was thinking of driving the 69' Camaro Pace Car... but it sounds like I should drive the 360 spider?

    HELP!

If you are still looking for cars for the poster, I could bring the Countach out. She needs a good coat of wax anyway!

Let me know once you firm up the date and time.
