I have posted something similar in the 328 forums, but I would like opinions.

I love symetry. RHS, LHS driving position, transverse engines all drive me crazy. Now, I have never been in a center driving position car so my opinion is all speculation.

I would love to hear your thoughts.

When I first read about the McLaren F1 10 or so years ago is when I realized CDP was the way to go. If I could only sit on one...

I've always wondered how easy, or how hard, it is to get in the driver's seat of a McLaren.

    Hard or easy ?

I know that the McLaren has directions on entry and egress. I have read them somewhere on the net I think.

It's not too bad, you just get into the passenger seat first, and then move across from there. Definite two step process. It's a good position when you're in there though, unfortunately I was only sat in it, I didn't get to drive :-(

I would say it's not the best position if you want to enter a parking garage...

Three seats are great. Means you can date twins.

Particularly when you can see 234 MPH on the speed gauge (on a temporaily unused runway!). Getting in and out was not an issue - in fact, I do not remember anything about it: perhaps adrenaline helps!!

There was a program on HDTheater a couple days ago about Ferraris. Featured a CT fellow and his F-buddies (one of whom had a yellow Enzo - either of them on here?), and another guy in Europe somewhere who had an Enzo and an orange McLaren. The host did not have an apparently easy maneuver into it and he commented as much. So, it appears for the average guy of average agility/core fitness, it's not something you'd want to run a day of errands in.

The owner of the yellow enzo has friends on here. Hes probably on here too but not too public. Same guy that loaned his ferraris to 50cent for his cribs shoot.

If you're dating a couple of girls this solves one major problem.

I'm sure CDP doesn't cut it in a road car for practical reasons -- toll booths, visibility during lane changes, passenger space/comfort, etc.

i've had theluck of being driven around in a Mclaren F1 several times and on normal and track occasion. there are pros and cons to it. The cdp set up lets you sit 3 peopl inside, one more than the rest. you got great visibility for normal driving but it is scary for overtaking because if you drive alone you have to move half the car to the other lane and if you drive with company you have to rely on their judgement. Forget paying tolls, parking lots and ordering fast food, you have to remove your seat bel and really lean to get your hand out the window
