We had a twin set of 360CS carbon wheels arrive yesterday. They were spec'd out exactly the same - red 3mm ring, red stitching, and normal black leather. One is going to a CS in New Jersey (repeat customer) and another is going onto a regular 360 in Texas. The CF wheel is a great final touch for the interior of the CS.

For CS owners, we have two CS wheels ready to go into production. So if you've been thinking of doing a wheel, now is your chance! When custom spec'ing a wheel you can choose from the following options: 12 o'clock ring (yes, no), ring color, stitching color (colored or black), suede or leather, and carbon bottom (yes, no). If we don't get someone specifying something in the next week or so, we'll probably just go with regular leather, red ring, and black stitching.

For normal 360s, we have a few wheels in stock from which to choose. We also have a normal 360 wheel that is ready to go into production and can be specified with the various combinations of the options described above.

I would totally agree with that, fabulous for the price compared to Ferrari OEM. I sat on the fence & criticized but am SO GLAD I managed to get off the fence

I'm sure we could wire something up and include some display..... Do you have a product to use to generate the signal? Would be cool though!

    Thanks Stu and RichardCH!

I've attached a few photo that RichardCH and other customers have sent us. The first photo is 'clipped' - to remove RichardCH's sexy legs! Don't want this turning into a T&A thread! :)

The carbon wheel really makes a difference on the CS since the entire interior is CF already. The OEM genmetal gray of the wheel is the only bit in the car and so the CF wheel fits in a bit better.

One idea would be to do a wheel in all suede (to match the dash) or leather with just a center in CF? If we had another spare wheel, we'd give it a try.

    John -

Do you have CF CS paddle shifters in stock? The only markings I would want on them would be the "up" and "down"

Nothing in stock at the moment. I'm looking at a nice shiny set but they ship out this afternoon. Let me know if you want us to get something going. Not to confuse my wheel thread but you said you only want up and down. How about this?

Got my wheel today John and it looks terrific. Now if someone could just point me in the right direction on how to get it on the car, I would gladly post some pics...

And the quality appears to be excellent - just can't wait to get it on the car;)

Wow, those wheels and paddles look great. I had CF steering on my 911tt. Only problem was they cracked (which I heard was common on the factory 911tt wheels) in two places. I had nearly 70k miles on it before that happened, though :)

Here are the rough install directions. A reputable shop that is used to dealing with steering wheels is all that's needed.

    The steps are:
    1. Disconnect Battery.
    2. Remove the two screws holding in the airbag. These are located on the side of the wheel in front of the hub.
    3. Disconnect airbag.
    4. Remove wheel by undoing the four 5mm hex boltshex holding the wheel to the hub.
    5. Place the carobn wheel on and redo the four bolts. Use fresh loctite.
    6. Install and connect the airbag
    7. Connect the battery

    Easy!

i've had CF wheels on my two 996s and never had any problems. Currently have it on my 996tt and doing great after 3yrs. Just need to keep it out of the sun by either parking in a covered area OR using a sunshade. But if you let it bake unprotected out in the heat and sun, it will fade(turn yellow) and crack.

John - thanks for the instructions. Will post pics this weekend. Unfortunately, out in West TX there aren't too many shops that are qualified to work on Ferrari's or Lamborghini's(some don't even know what they are) so I end up doing all the work myself.

Not necessarily. This will occur only if the clear coat fails which protects the epoxy resin from UV damage. In other words, yellowing and or cracking CF is a manufacturing finishing defect and typically has nothing to do with the CF itself.

The Porsche wheels are known for cracking. And fading. But they are cheap and include the wheel. When it cracks/fades, dump it on eBay and buy another. Hence we never do them unless the customer wants silver CF. Attached is a photo of a wheel that also came in with the CS wheels.

    Hazy -
We could do a CS wheel with a cream leather bottom - no problem. Would you want to keep the grips in perforated leather black? I hope so! As I said, we have two CS wheels ready to be done. Due to the cost of the wheel from Ferrari, we will unfortunately only have two cores for a while. Due to the cost of getting a different leather, there moderators would have to pay the same as other fchatters!

    -Gianster
430 wheels are a tough nut to crack. The big problem is the switches. Ferrari doesn't sell them separately. So if a switch is bad, you have to buy a whole new wheel. So if a switch does not work after reassembly or we send you a wheel and get one back with a bum switch, someone is out $4k. That's not a risk many (including us) are willing to take. Why Ferrari does not sell the parts is beyond me. If you get a factory CF wheel and then sell your old one, I figure you are looking at a upgrade cost of about $4k.

    - Thoang

Thanks for the kind words. We thought they turned out pretty nicely.

will the CS wheel fit on a '02 360 spider ??? Also how much is it, the exact wheel with the carbon and a rally stripe at 12pm and the red stitching ??

Also it would fantastic if you could get the rpm in the wheel like the enzo.

We don't put pricing here in a thread, as pricing will vary over time. You can check our website at www.macarbon.com->Ferrari Carbon->360 Steering wheels. The price there includes all of the customization you want.

Ferrari now charges $3,000 for a CS wheel at this point in time. It used to be $1100. You'll need to add that cost to our price if you want to put a CS wheel on a non-CS car. We do not currently need additional 'normal' 360 wheels.

To be straight up, the shift lights are beyond what we want to do at this point. If someone developed a system to do the lights, we'd be happy to put them in a wheel. But we are carbon fiber guys, not electronics specialists!

I would also be interested in the shift light system too

Also FChat Moderators with the first name Adam should be made to pay more than anyone else imo... :D

I really like the steering wheel of the blue one with carbon fiber on the bottom instead of leather. Also the paddles with the stripe is a nice touch! Great work :)
