Leonbergers can't go to Westminister, yet,[soon they'll be in the miscellanous class for a year or so then probably be put in the working group]. Berners can! They are a beautiful breed!! Oh,and Leo's think they're lap dogs, see. This is Heidi,Berner, and Avery,Leo. They're passed on now but for about ten years were a huge part of our lives. We have another Berner,LouLou,and I'll post a pic some day later. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
We owned a Malamute show dog for a while. He was a great looking dog and always attracted a lot of attention when we took him out. We used to take him in the back of my pick-up truck to the local Burger King and get him a cheeseburger (we would order it "ketchup only" and let it cool down some before we fed it to him - that was his favorite). Of course, he got use to it, so every time the tailgate would go down on the truck, he would leap into the back thinking it was time for another trip to Burger King. He was a fairly large and powerful dog. He was also a good watchdog. He would bark & growl at people if they drove up in our driveway and parked. He was tall enough that his face was about eye level with the person in the driver's seat. Most people stayed in the car until one of us came out from the house. We now have a yellow Lab from a rescue organization. A very sweet dog. Here are some pics of our former Malamute. First pic is when he was full grown. 2nd & 3rd pics are when he was still half a puppy. We miss him. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I was away all weekend, and when I got home on Sunday night my Springer got so excited that she puked on me, if That is not love, I just don't know what it is. Funny thing is my ex-wife use to do the same thing?
We now have LouLou and the Doodle. The dood,Oscar, is a mess but good mess,a nice blend of the good things about a Lab&Poodle.Doods will not make it to the AKC and that's a good thing.LouLou the Berner is a Super-model! We didn't think Leo's would be AKC either but they soon are, this is Avery and his younger half brother Barns...darn cancer got them both before they were 8 and 10,we miss them lots. When you have 2 Leonbergers you need a bigger house. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
