    ...and today!

First of all let me say that I do have all of my teeth and my neck is not the color of most Ferrari's. I like racing and have been to almost every kind of pro race except NASCAR. That said I figured I'd check it out. The cars and the racing are very impressive but today I'm not too happy with NASCAR. I understand the rain delays but it was clear at the second red flag at 7pm that we were done for the night. Most of the fans were leaving and were just plain tired, I left at 7pm and at 11pm they finally made the decision to run the race today. So now I'm back off to Fontana to see the race we'll see how it goes.

I had hot passes ready but the friend I was going with was sick so we decided not to go, and thankfully so. That was the longest day of racing ever! They should have called the race way sooner, that was just crazy to let it go on that long, not only for the drivers sake but the fans... At least today you can go and catch two good races!

I went for practice and qualifying on Friday, ended up standing at the entrance to pit road for about 2 hours waiting for the cars to take the track. Finally they canceled everything after we got a heavy downpour and hail. So all I got were a few good pics and soaked from standing in the pouring rain to be on SPEED, what a day. Glad though that I went and that they are finally racing today. Even though they only turn right, I've been a fan for about 8 years now.

3000lbs at 200 mph with a carb on 12" tires has gotta be a thrill turning in any direction. Close racing, big crowd, bare t*ts. Rednecks have the most fun! Proud to be one!

I thought they ran California Speedway in counter clockwise direction, which would be turning left.

I went in on Friday and just before I got into the track the activities were canceled, that wasn't much fun but it was nice to check out the layout of the midway and such. Saturday was fun early but after midday it turned bad. Sunday just sucked period but it was mother natures fault. They only problem with yesterday was there was no communicationfrom the track what was going on. Also it needed to be called wayyyy earlier. Atleast today racing somewhat made up for it, although I couldnt go up there. All in all it was a somewhat good weekend.

Well I went back to the race, and had a good time. It was definitely a better event in the sunshine. So there I was, all ready and prepped with my camera to get that great shot of the winner doing donuts in the grass... but nope, I got a backflip. Grrrr!

I've attached a few shots from the race, both Sunday and Monday. The dark clouds indicate Sunday... you can see how dark it got at one point. Another shot is of the stands around 6:30pm when it started raining again. That place cleared out quickly! One shot is of a fan I spotted on the way to the track. This guy had his van painted right down the middle. Half was painted after Dale Earnhardt's #3 black car, and the other half was Dale Jr's #88 red car. You could clearly see that this guy has freshly painted a second 8 at the last minute! Now that's a fan!!!
