Yes but I'm sure Goth was just being post-ironic.

    Wasn't he??

ps mines in the back under the lid labeled 'battery under here'. I did that so i could remember where it was. may be a good tip.

post-post-irony don't you just love it?

If we made my book available to everyone when they registered to post on the site, Husker's stress level could subside. This thread gives me lots of ideas for a sequel by the way.

Yes, and change the air in your tyres too - it goes stale with use!

I had to laugh yesterday when my auto tech told me it was time to consider changing the timing belt(s) on my car. He was referring to my Audi !!

My timing belt broke...the teeth are still good almost all the way around..can I just staple it together for now? I'll be doing the big service next week anyway, but I wanna drive it..what do you think??

Oh..one other thing..my tire on the right front is only flat on the bottom. If I rotate it to the left rear of the car will it be ok to drive for a while?

Yes that is perfectly acceptable, always wait until ALL the belts break. It is just not worth removing the engine to change just one belt. Not to mention, bothering Daniel over one measly belt is not good either.

But that begs the question....what is the proper material to use to repair the belt. Would your garden variety staple be good enough, or should you use an industrial stapler? Does Ferrari sell the correct staple? In a genuine box? Part number 131369? $487.55 each? Would zip-ties do just as well? Shouldn't any exposed ends be covered in duct tape? What color? What's the Ferrari part number? Do you have a blow-up of the schematic that shows it in the manual? Should I use Stabilant-22? I'm so confused....please help me!

Can I use some suspenders intstead of a belt ? Suspenders are cheaper but will they be safe like a belt ?

Not fashionable. Your belt should always match your tires. Suspenders are for barbershoppers.

Got a small problem with my Ferrari and hoping some one could give me some sensible advice.

I was going for a drive yesterday when I heard a funny noise. It sounded like "bwang bif thwupp thrupp bingalingdong pwahista pipipipi bwoooom bang a bong" or something like that. Anyway, I carried on driving as it's a Ferrari and it's supposed to sound different to other cars. However, the sound started getting louder and louder, so I though if I went faster, the sound would go away.

Whilst driving at 140mph, i noticed that it was getting quite bright. it was noticable mainly because I was driving around at 2am in the morning hoping to pick up some hotties...but that's another story.

So anyway, I looked in the rear view mirror and saw very big flames coming out of the engine. Imagine a barbecue with a gallon of petrol poured on top and that gives you half the size. At first i thought it was due to the tubi thingy i had put on recently as the previous seller told me he had flames coming out of them which I thought was really cool.

I remember at school something about the faster you go, the more likely that flames would go out. so i started accelerating. At 180 mph i did notice that the flames had lessened, so I carried on driving along the highway. It was actually quite cool as people in other cars kept on waving at me as I went past. Sure are a lot of ferrari lovers out there. :D

Unfortunatly, the engine died and I lost power. Although I managed to pull the car over, I damaged one of my front wheels on the kerb and i have to tell ya, I'm really upset by that.

Anyway, the question i wanted to ask is........

Is it still safe to drive it?

    No.

You can only use Leggs extra support panty hose. But you must be sure to use a double square knot when you tie them.
