Run VIN number??

I just pickup up a vitange racecar 66 GT350 mustang without a title. It was a street car at one time. Trying to find out where and when it was last titled. I don't think carfax goes back that far but not positive? Anyone have a way of running the VIN? I know the names of the likely last two owners and have talked with them and they said they didn't remember if they had it or not?

 

Pretty cool site, tells you about the car,options where and when it was made but nothing about ownership. If anyone else has any ideas let me know. Thanks
