I believe this had to be rust from a single storage interval as it each gear had only 1 well defined rust spot about an inch of the perimeter. But if the rust had occurred over multiple storage seasons, the rust would have been distributed more or less uniformly around the gears.

According to the current owner, for the most recent dozen years or so, it was stored in a garage attached to the house each salt season. Not specificly heated, but most likely didn't go much below 32F in even severe cold spells, & yes, it was only driven a few hundred miles/year.

Those are Scotts (smg) pulleys. He's supposed to have somemore sets coming but I think hes bogged down with a lot of other projects and it could be a while until we see anymore. I have a set of those exact pulleys, but they wont work on my car because my engine is too early and uses a slightly different drive pulley and drive shaft design. If someone wants a set of these for the later engines, roughly 1978 and later, id let mine go for what they cost me.

    Paul,

They're only for 308's (only some it seems) and not for 328's or 348's, is that right?

Along with a supercharger kit for the 348's. I got an e-mail from him a few weeks back regarding the kit. I called him to ask if it would be available cause I might contemplate getting another 348 and Hot Rodding it! Im waiting for confirmation but last I spoke to Scott, the kit will be ready around spring time or so.

I have 20 sets done for the 308/328 and it's broken down to 10 sets per model. shipping up to me this week. I'll post a thread when they get here.
the 348 projects will be under way soon. the 348 uses one belt and for simplicity I'll keep it that way and update the tooth profile. I'll also be adding twin superchargers too :D
