jetfixr your esprit is absolutely amazing and you can tell the amount of time and money has really paid off."will 41,000$ buy your esprit"...i had a good laugh at that one. people just dont get it. I would DEFINATLEY hold on to it man, the ultimate Ferrari beater..and in ABSOLUTLEY PERFECT CONDITION! People just dont get it with the esprit, and then to waste your time with nonsense questions is absolutely ridiculous. It belongs to a good man like you who can take care of it and knows it well. Putting it in the hands of someone who puts its value at a hummer h2 or wants a quick buy for 41 thousand doesnt desereve it. Dont listen to me tho...you seem like a great guy and imo KEEP IT! good luck and take care

Listen the esprit used market is really really odd.. it's impossible to set a value for a car.. I wouldn't let yours go below 60k.. DO NOT listen to anyone else.. the Esprit value is VERY dependant on the condition of the car.. yours is fantastic.. do not sell for less than 60k..

many people are letting 02's go at 50k but this is due to the sellers NEEDING to get out of the car.. you don't need to so keep the value up.

    I know,

I was actually going to pull it off the market tomorrow but the buyer stepped up and took it. I've never sold something and had a "sinking" feeling before.....

I gave my word and entered into in agreement so I intend to be fair with this individual and give him a fair chance.

If he inspects and for any reason doesn't like it I'm gonna keep or ask more......

I do not mind that much because at the end of the day I got a great deal on the car I just bought.....I guess that makes me feel a little better.

    We'll see

If I may ask how much are you letting the car go for?

you do realize finding an esprit that doesn't have tranny damage or some kind of maintenance issues is all but impossible right? my 03 cost me about 80 after I "made it right"..

If you ever go back to esprit ownership you might have to do the same again..

    Nooooooooooo...

Don't sell it!!! Its such an awesome car! I was watching this thread hoping that you'd find a way to keep the car but making the garage bigger, creating a shed for it or even buying a lift for your garage. Or you could have put a port-cosher (sp?) for the wife's SUV.

    :(

Sorry your so far away, I would like to join the fun! My other half helps as well but is kind enough to turn a blind eye to my need for toys. I am lucky her needs are not as $$$ as mine!!!! Sounds like you have a deal??? I hope the new owner treats the Lotus as well as you did. All the best..........

    Hello everyone.

To all those who followed this post and/or who know Ian, I just wanted to confirm that I purchased the car in this post (end of February) and took delivery recently (end of March). I have had the car on the road now for about 3 weeks and it has been AWESOME!! I couldn't be happier with the car or the overall experience. Just had my single best driving experience the other day and I had to call Ian to tell him about it and thank him (for about the 6th time) for selling me the car.

I have owned a 1999 Esprit before (Yellow of course), and I thought my previous car was in great condition??!! This car BLOWS it out of the water in every respect. Ian was a true gentleman throughout the whole transaction and I would vouch for his credibility on this forum, hands down. He is very meticulous with his cars and treats them with the utmost respect and attention. Not to mention, he is a first class guy who obviously knows his stuff and I will definitely do business with him again (trying to pry the spider off his hands now :)).

I had such a good experience in purchasing (and so far owning) this car, I felt the need to close out this post with a proper send off. I am in the process of trying to work out the details of making it down for Ian's "get together" in July. If some of you are there, I look forward to meeting you.

Having seen Ian's threads and spoken to him personally, I would purchase a car from him without question. He is the type of perfectionist that would not even sell a car that did not meet his high standards. :)

Congrats on the purchase of the Lotus. It's an awesome car. I've driven that car and I agree that it's the most perfect example of any Lotus out there. I've done work for Ian and know that he doesn't rest until each and every one of his cars are perfect. Take the spider for example... we all saw the thread when he purchased it, I assure you now that it's in tip-top shape. Alot of owners just do enough maintence to get by, Ian makes sure his cars are improved with each service. If there were more owners like him, there'd be no need for PPI's!!!!!!!!
