    What really blows me away is how many people just don't get it. Last year I had to go to court back stateside, on short notice. I had not packed a suit, so I went down to the Salvation Army and found a nice dark suit for $10. i get to court and every other person there is in jeans and t-shirts. Everyone thought I was an asttorney. I could not believe people didn't have sense to dress appropriately for court. In point of fact I was acting as my own attorney, and I won my case: the first verdict against the attorney general in the 4 years he'd been appearing before that court. Would I have won in jeans and a t-shirt? I'm glad I don't get to find out.

    It ain't fair, baby, but it's the way it is, and teaching your kids the facts of life is part of your job as a parent.

    I completely agree. I had to do jury duty. I didn't wear a suit, but I did wear nice pants and a nice long sleeve button up shirt. I get there and look around and see people wearing shorts. I was just beside myself. I was also still a youngster at 23.

    I liked what anunakki and yourself had to say. I tend to agree with you and his other comments as well.

    My friend (he's divorced) is dealing with a suspension with his own 7 yr. old daughter. She apparently used the word sex. Was warned once and then she apparently was caught using it again. My friend never heard about the first time until the second one when she was suspended. She was using this around her friends.

    We were discussing this and were puzzled at how he was not contacted the first time, and why himself, his daughter and a counselor were not brought in to find out where she learned the word. When ourselves were little and we were in trouble this is how it always happened. She thinks the word means you're good looking.

    Come to find out, as he confronted his older daughter (10), the 10 year old walked in on her mom and her bf having sex in the closet. She told the little one about it. So needless to say my friend is furious at his ex-wife for having sex while they children are still awake. Let alone in the closet.

    It's pretty ridiculous. I've heard a sound clip of her hitting the ball. It sounds like she's having sex, but she doesn't need to be suspended.

    It's funny, the more sex we throw out in society, the more prude we become.

    For those in the public vs private school camp on this issue, it is a charter school. Public money is used to cover the tuition of middle and lower income families to attend privately run schools. So a poor mother can send her kid to an essentially private school. Mom needs to learn to follow the rules.

    Mohawks do not belong on 6 year old kids, i think it was right to suspend him.

    I'll see if I can find it. They were playing it on one of the radio stations in the morning yesterday. I don't remember which one because I was flipping around so much. I'll see if I can find it.

    Kind of funny. We don't care too much about violence and such, but one mention of sex, we are waiving hell. You go to Europe and such, they are the opposite.

    Wonder if Phil Specter's dad felt the same way?

    Seriously, I am nearly 59 and I remember the Mohawk as a fairly common haircut back in my elem school days, as was the crew cut. They were considered "establishment" clean cut look; low maintenance and good for rainy days.

    Long hair was the evil, particularly as the 60s wore on...
