The biggest reason I want to visit Portland. My dad tells me all the time, that he and his army buddies were stationed at Fort Lewis and drive to Portland all the time. They loved the beers, would do the tours and get toasted for free or next to nothing. I'm sure they frequented your local nudie bars as well, knowing my dad. lol

I hesitate to use the term "everyday" beer, so, aside from the special-occasion "best beer in the whole wide world" - what's the best "regular" beer?

I will be drinking Creemore on Saturday afternoon, on the deck, in the sun, following a day of snowboarding. It will be perfect.

Whatever Premium beer that is on sale.

BTW; the cheapest crappiest regular beer in Germany outshines anything I've tasted here stateside. Forget the exportable ones.
Duvel approaches but, my god, $2 for 12oz.

Oh great, a heathen. Would you not consider that 'proper' beer in England is served at the optimum temperature for the beer to be stored and consumed and its more a problem with you rather unrefined pallet which cannot appreciate the wonders that is 'proper' beer. I think your American bubbles in your fizzy pop beer have done you in.

Larger is Larger, its not beer.

    Here endeth the lesson.

I agree, proper beer is from the "old world", full of traditional flavors. But the Pacific coast has a butt-load of great American-ized flavors of beer. Anchor Steam is probably the best known and oldest, but Widmer, Red Hook and lots of others come from out there. I love to buy and try different micro-brews. I even got into brewing my own...I called the first batch Gary's Wicked Ail. Something like Pete's Wicked Ale, but mine was spelled A-I-L as in make you sick from drinking the nasty crap................

My old house mate design the packaging for PU. If you go to Prague, they own a massive food hall where you get PU for like 20p for near on a litre and a huge plate of decent grub for a couple of £

    Top stuff

Apparently in Czech they gold crap at the top of the bottle is seen as a sign of 'premium' beer, where as we in the UK find it pointless and annoying

I don't know if they export it...probably not because the demand is too high here in the US, but I'm a big fan of Coors Light a.k.a. The Silver Bullet!

For those on a budget, check out Keystone Light, the by-product of Coors Light which didn't pass the quality control standards which are enforced over there in the Rockie Mountains....
