What kind of shoes are we talking here? If were talking school casual, I usually wear my Felipe Massa Puma or Skechers Mandalay with jeans and a polo shirt. On good days, I usually wear my LV Monte Carlo loafer with shorts/khakis and again, a polo shirt.
My favorite "really casual" shoes are Ecco Walkathons.....very comfortable....or New Balance 992s Tennis shoes...hard to beat those......but if you are talking about nice shoes......LV Siroccos.
For dress I used to wear Bally wingtips. I know have Bostonian captoe and Johnston & murphy For daily I wore dr martens for 10+ years but they changed their 1461 shoe and moved production away from England. Downhill since then. I now wear rockport black shoe -dsd
Dude, whatever you do, don't wear your JonGlob shoes out here. You'll get scatt in them little holes. And, you have no protection against snake bite. Edwardo
Closet is packed with Piloti's! I think I have one of almost every style and all of a few of the styles. I think I have 18 pairs of them. Just like the way they look and the style. Since I am in a wheelchair and can't feel my feet I have NO IDEA if they are actually comfortable, but they do not leave any red marks on my feet after wearing them all day, so that is a good thing anyway! Did a recount on the Piloti's. 20 pair! LOL! I just love'em! All colors and all styles for all occasions! James Austin, TX
I have a very large show collection. The best everyday shoes by far are below. I have them in 5 different colors: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The timing on this topic is actually very nice. I just bought a suit for interviewing and I need nice shoes ASAP. This wouldn't usually be a problem, but I have size 15 feet and finding dress shoes that don't look awful is a real challenge. Anyone have any suggestions for a great pair of classic/contemporary dress shoes that I could wear with a suit? I know shoes are a very important part of the 'look', but aside from the Ferregamo store in Scottsdale Fashion, I haven't been able find anything that I like. (and I'm not trying to be a gear queer, but I honestly don't like the look of 99% of the shoes out there that fit me). Any help??
Clint. It depends on the suit. Is a classic suit? If its more edgy like a Ralph Lauren Black Label or Theory then you are better of doing something like a Dolce, Ferraegamo, Prada, or Zenga. Tell me more about the suit and I will tell you what will look best. Whatever you do, dont get any round or rubber sole shoes. Antony
Eek; a bit embarrassed here. It's a 'first suit' kind of deal, so I went to Mens Warehouse. Because of my size (6'4", 245lbs), the selection was limited, but I ended up with a dark navy 3 button jacket with super-fine light blue pinstripes and a kind of light charcoal surround on the stripes. The pants obviously match the jacket. It is not a three-piece. It's a Calvin Klein - I wanted a custom Brioni, but at least now I can afford to buy shirts/shoes/and ties. I am picking it up tomorrow. Anyway, it's a bit less conservative than a gray or black, but I think it reflects my personality and I do like it a lot. To give you an idea of the subtlety, from 5-10 feet away, the suit looks like a solid navy, but closer than that and you can see the pattern in the cloth. It doesn't have 1/16" wide pinstripes or anything like that. Long answer to a short question, but it's a modern look that's doesn't say "trendy". I am avoiding rubber soled and round shoes at all costs. Thanks for your help, Antony! Darth: LOL!
Good luck on the interviews. I would say a classic lace up that is slim and has a small point. Antony
